Excellent performance. Absolutely crucial today

That's the position he's asked to take up though. I agree with you, it leaves Peck isolated but it's how Wilder likes to start attacks.I still think he drops too deep still and that leaves Peck isolated, hence why he didn’t have the best of games. Some great blocks and interceptions though today.
If he’s fasting it makes the performance even more impressive.Brother played a cracker today, masha'Allah.
Ramadan Mubarak!
Agree, at one point he and Peck were in CB positions with Anel and Robo further up, don’t know, may have been tactical. After we got our goal he was enormous.
It was the Chodhury that we've seen having blinders against us at Bramall Lane.
He was all over the midfield, breaking up the play, moving it on.
Crucially though, he was doing it all much higher up the pitch and keeping us on the front foot.
Defensive masterclass at times.
I still don't like the tactic where he drops in between our CBs in possession.
But at this stage, I have to assume he's being told to do it.
Maybe he was, but for a professional athlete there's no compulsion to fast.If he’s fasting it makes the performance even more impressive.
His passing is impeccable. He just keeps it very simple and safe. He’s at a very very high level when it comes to the defensive side. It’s with the ball he’s lacking.
His passing is ok yeah. Impeccable is a bit extreme. When I said with the ball I’m referring to that - it’s very simple, no-risk balls. I’m not digging him out, I like him a lot. Vini is similar but probably slightly better at getting us moving up the pitch. His passing is impeccable. He just keeps it very simple and safe.
You don’t get players who can defend like he can and attack. It’s for someone else at the side of them to do the forward / more difficult passes.
Yeah I would agree. Vini is the much better player but he cost £10million and Hamza would be a low fee I would imagine. His passing is ok yeah. Impeccable is a bit extreme. I think this is tactical giving the FB’s the opportunity to become Wing Backs and get more width when attacking and seeing Hamer come more central to join Peck. It has worked that well yet and worse shocking against Bristol, but I see what CW is trying to do.Much, much better in the second half than he was in the first.
I don't mind him dropping deep in between the CB's when we need him to but sometimes he does it when he shouldn't do it and it leaves Peck isolated.
Souza only ever dropped into the defence when absolutely necessary, otherwise he would be further forward.
But good luck to HC on international duty, I'm assuming it's friendlies or world cup qualifiers as I'm not sure what other international competitions Asian teams play in.
Ndiaye also used to fast. I remember him scranning a mars bar during one night game.Maybe he was, but for a professional athlete there's no compulsion to fast.
You can either make up the fast later or offer a donation to charity. That said, in the past, there's been a couple of evening prem games that have been stopped to allow players to open their fasts - Mohammed Salah and Wes Fofana spring to mind.
