Hamers Replacement......should he be sold.

The playoff final showed us a snapshot of life after Hamer, when he went off injured. Effectiveness or not, in form or not, he's the only one who effectively shows for the ball constantly and tries to make something happen. The rest are, for want of a better phrase, a supporting cast. I.e. good players, but they supplement a playmaker, they aren't the playmaker in their own right. This could be about to get very grim, if we don't sign at least one player with the balls to dictate play.

How can you say Soumare is dross - he's only played half a game?? He looked ok to me.

FFS - players don't even get half a game now before they are written off.

Didn’t mean Soumare was dross - just that it’s a waste of a loan if Selles isn’t prepared to actually play him.

Don’t care much for bindon so far though - looks along way off the required levels

But that's exactly what you said.

"We’ve waste the loans with dross like Bindon and Soumare who he won’t even play."

Make your mind up.

Why would Selles sign him, then give him only half a game? That would be mental. Like signing Rob Holding and not playing him.......

Dross like Bindon …. And Soumare who he won’t even play.

no clue - you’d have to ask the guy that signed him but won’t play him despite having a non existent midfield.

Maybe with this Chelsea lad we'll put him with either Peck or Soumare as a double pivot in a 4231 and shift O'Hare up to what I think is his natural position as no.10? Might not be the worst thing in the world if his heart isn't in it, we get some decent money, and there's a bit more balance to the system?
A lot said about the lad from Chelsea….played 20 games for Oxford last year. Defensive, dull, unproven

If we don’t bring a replacement in I think ok done this season already, it was to painful on Saturday as it is, to lose the best player in the league on the last day of the transfer window is PEAK United and I’m seriously questioning why I support a club that puts its fans through tbis shite every year. We’re run by morons who have little interest in the club or the fans it seems.

Must admit apart from Tanganga non of the other signings fill me with confidence
If Ings stays fit he’ll be a great addition, we also need to sign Mee, as we’re desperate for leaders and experience.

Do the owners have a contingency in place for an immediate (in the next 24hrs) replacement.

Or do they just shrug shoulders...and pocket the £15m/£20m and save it for January.

Can only think of Torp/Rudoni at Coventry.............or everyones fav Cantwell.
Sell last season's Championship player of the year, then you had better buy this season's player of the year

None of which will matter if we have an idiot in charge who has no idea how to set them up.

He’s supposedly a student of the game. How can he set the team up with such basic flaws?

For all intents and purposes we are effectively lining up 4-1-5!

I get bored saying it but if he wants to play Hamer AND O’Hare then the way to do it is either 4-2-3-1, with Peck alongside a proper DM and Hamer and O’Hare as 2 of the supporting 3 OR 3-4-2-1 with Peck once more alongside a proper DM and Hamer and O’Hare as the 2.

That’s it. Only other variation is what I suppose you call 4-2-1-3 but this is only 4-2-3-1 under a different name and still requires another deep midfield player.

I’m not claiming to be a tactical genius here because anyone with eyes can see the above. Apart from one man and his coaches, apparently.

Matos is nothing like Hamer. He definitely won't be his replacement.
You say that Roy, but the place he’s supposedly thinks he’s playing Hamer is far more suited to a Matos type.

If you’d genuinely got Matos and Peck then you might actually have more balance of play Hamer further forward.

Possibly going to be Matos and Peck behind Barry, O’Hare and Chong.

But you’ll miss Hamer’s star quality. O’Hare simply doesn’t have the same output.
