Outgoing? Hamer

Wilder needs to stop being so stubborn and just go back to the 3-5-2.

The full backs we already have here would make much better wing backs and I think Gus would be brilliant in the "Duffy role"
I like your formation and role for Hamee but I’m old enough to remember people calling Wilder stubborn fir sticking to a 3-5-2 😂

He's already got three suitors: Coventry, PSV, and a Saudi team, which he said he didn't fancy despite the big offer.

Sounds like the wheels are in motion for his exit!

I'm fairly certain we haven't paid Coventry the full amount of his original transfer? Can someone confirm that or have I been told a Chinese whisper? If that's the case, then Coventry could get him for a cut down price meaning we won't get what we all believe he is worth. No doubt if/when he is sold it will be undisclosed, so we are kept out the loop.

We may or may not have paid the balance on his transfer but if not it is still due and subsequently does not effect the value of any transfer be it to Coventry or someone else, it still comes off the bottom line.

This is fairly common in the age of amortisation.

I’m really on the fence with Hamer. I’d love him to stay and think we could build a team around him but the last couple of seasons have shown they wilder can’t cover the weaknesses that come with his game and is too stubborn to try anything other than playing him off the left.

Interesting to read on the article about our interest in Jack Clarke that if Hamer stays the plan is for him to be in the middle.

I think that's an admission he can't play on the left without unbalancing it all tbh.

We aren’t getting Clarke. Red meat thrown to fans from propagandist-in-chief.

Agree though, hopefully it’s a sign after two season he’s going to try something else.

Surely not - fans were told we were naive wanting Hamer to play in the 10 with two proper wingers 🤔

Only taken us 2 years to get to that point.

If we wanted to sign a winger who would enable Hamer to move central we should have signed Sorba Thomas last summer when he was easily attainable. But we were in a coma

The sort who would best enable it is one who will stay wide and has decent work rate going back the other way

Or brought Rak-Sakyi back in January when he was looking for a club.

Which is weird as Wilders said to anyone who’ll listen he were “player of the season” in that position.

Please no, there's a reason he went to Stoke in January and got minimal game time. We wasted enough money on his loan deal here which looked like a coup at the time. To me, he underperformed and never seemed like he was interested or bought into the club.

Points per game was higher when he was on the pitch than when he wasn’t.

He was our only direct attacking player, and he was good at it! He worked well with Seriki, scored and made a few goals, so of course Wilder replaced them both with Gilchrist/BBD then Clarke/BBD which was a completely ineffective partnership. Another Wilder classic.

Teams would double up on him which left space in the middle for others (particularly Hamer) to move into. Not sure Wilder worked this out and he prefers his players to come back inside and pass it to the centre backs.
