Am i going mental or has this rumour just been regurgitated with no actual advancement from what was said weeks ago?

He did OK in the PL, but it's telling that there's no interest from there.

We paid £15m for a top-end 26 year old Championship player. He's now a 28 year old top-end Championship player.
His stock's risen, but not that much.
Maybe you're right. I still think minimum £20m though.

That sound logic won't stop people foaming at the mouth when we 'only' get £17m

Having listened to our managers interview where he says he wants to move Hamer inside to get him on the ball more I hope he does not become this seasons Kevin McDonald.
Still two years left on his contract and no reason to sell, but who knows the way the tangled web works.
You know how it is haha! Of course it will be.

Would be slightly surprised if PSV have 25-30 million English Pounds to spend on him(?)
28 year old who isn't a physical specimen. That's very high for him. If we make 5 million on him that's good work as long as we can replace with a younger fitter version or two

I've already punched a hole in the wall here.

I'm coming round to the idea of "just" getting our money back tbf. We had use out of him for two years.

Money back would be excellent but I'd be surprised if anybody would pay. To me he currently looks likely to stay. If he does, it will at least simplify recruitment, give us less to do. If he leaves we might have to mess about signing 2 players to replace him

If we are to carry one big earner I'd rather it was him. His fitness stinks but he's the only matchwinner among them

If we lose Souza and any of Hamer, Anel or Cooper, we're giving ourselves a lot of work to do, a lot of quality to replace and on what budget and timescales??

A Dutch club should not be capable of signing Hamer from us. The price has to be north of £20m which is a fee I’d be surprised if another club was willing to pay. His age just means his value to us is far greater than a buying club. He’s in his prime & the best player in the division.

They play in the champs league have revenues of over €150m, made a large operating profit and are selling players for c€40m. I’m quite sure they can pay what it takes to get Gus if they want him.

Got to be above £20m for me. 2 years left and it's what he's worth to us rather than trying to sort of justify accepting less for him.
He's very hard to replace whilst we are championship club. In fact it probably requires a setup change and 2 players or the like.

PSV would have to break their transfer record. However this is assuming they don't include say a player swap?

Exactly this, we decide what we would take not who’s going to offer the most. For me it has to be £20 million at the minimum.

Hamer isn't worth that much.

I really hope we don't sell. We've already lost Souza.

We've one more year of the larger parachute payments, it'd be nice to see us back Selles and have another roll of the dice. The sales will still be on next Summer if we fail again (maybe at a lower rate).
Not worth selling then

If the rumours are true that Hamer and his family are feeling settled where they are, then aren't Leeds (which is commutable) the biggest threat?

Didn't one of the reports say they think they can get him for £6.8m ?

It's fine saying that but he's getting on and it will likely be his only chance of playing in the Champion's League. Eindhoven or Dronfield?

Depends on where Hamer's heart is at.
If his head's turned (see Ndiaye), then best to let him go whilst his value is still high.

We were able to move Berge on with few years left on his deal, and replace with Hamer.
It may be that the Board / Selles feel now's the right time.

I'd be supportive if it was handled in the same way as the above. Replacement ready to go, pre-sale.
