Just remember our 3rd choice left back is a starter in their 11 FACT.
Their review/ feedback regards Max Lowes's debut....shows the difference in levels between the 2 Sheffield clubs.
Let's be honest, Lowe is OK for the championship, probably an average standard championship left back who is no where near good enough for the Premier League where he really struggled. Also he's pretty quiet and when things get tough his head drops, he's not a battler or fighter.
Blades fans set our benchmark towards upper Championship/ PL level...that's why we were shocked at how poor Preston were.
So almost every Blade says Lowe is not good enough and not worth a contract extension.
Some said if we can get him cheap, lower his salary, then he should still be able to do a job at Championship, so he'd be good backup
but the bottom line is if we have ambitions towards promotion then he's not good enough.
Owls fans benchmark is league 1/ lower championship level....that's why they''re convinced Plymouth are actually a decent team.
So because Lowe is average championship standard then they are really impressed with him.
There's a thread on Owltalk where they all say he looks a great acquisition and a clear step up on what they've had before.
They need to see how he reacts when under pressure and then they'll see he struggles.
