I think the reason we’ve got to hear about Hamer’s contract release clause is because it’s lapsed without incident and therefore the club was happy for details to be shared amongst us minions

Losing your best player, by a sizable margin to balance the books, despite already being comfortably over £80m for income this season is very much the worst outcome
