What other owner does this. Bonkers.Ask yourself who has decided they’d like it public?![]()
Having the cut off for the clause to be activated was a really smart move by the club and avoids a desperate scrabble for a replacement in the last few days of the window. A big well done to the club for this. So, as I j derstand things, the Hamer contract clause stated that if a club bid £17.5m up to 21 days before the end of the summer transfer window closing, if we have been relegated the season before back to the Championship, then the clause was invoked and he could leave for that sum. Not that we have gone past the 21 day remaining window then the conditions needed to meet the clause criteria cannot be met.....this summer.
I suppose though that if we went up again, and then got relegated again all whilst Hamer was within his existing contract then the clause could then be met again..... mind if that was the case then I would expect United to offer Hamer a new contract if we got promoted anyway so probably wouldn't be an issue anyway.
Apparently original link is a twitter account with 50 followersFew Ipswich fans seem to think he is joining them for 18m![]()
Sounds like meApparently original link is a twitter account with 50 followers![]()
I think the suggestion is that he’ll soon be signing a new contract which would remove the release clause
Not a chance he goes for £18m now. Would take around £30m. We have seen before that this owner extracts maximum value out of players under long contracts.
Tbf it has happened before as teams got desperate at the end of a window. I think man u did this with Fellaini. No chance anyone is going to be paying above his buy out clause. I’m sure his agent would’ve been telling every club who might be remotely interested in signing him about the clause and the deadline.
If no one was willing to sign him for the clause figure, there is no chance anyone is going to pay significantly more.
Apart from the one against Preston.Could do with less chips.
Jesus. Surely, if it happens, more embarrassing that Ipswich missed a clause deadline and paid more. Danny is better than this
I think Danny has just had a bit of a nightmare here. I think he is speculating what happens if he is sold for under the initial buy outJesus. Surely, if it happens, more embarrassing that Ipswich missed a clause deadline and paid more. Danny is better than this
NoThe suggestion is that Ipswich put the offer in time and now discussing personal contract with Hamer.
So in essence bid made before deadline but would be announced after deadline.
I don't think so either but that's what Ipswich twitter lads are claiming and is what Danny is referencing.
I don't think so either but that's what Ipswich twitter lads are claiming and is what Danny is referencing.
Hence he's not really had a nightmare just responding to those claims.
This is the Ipswich Twitter account with about 30 followers right?
Think he’s saying that if it was true it would be embarrassing for the Prince, which is why it isn’t.
Did we not learn anything from what happened with the burrows transfer? No, the Ipswich lads jumping all over it claiming it to be true and met release clause on time.
Like I said I don't believe it personally but that's what Danny is referring to.
Did we not learn anything from what happened with the burrows transfer?
One account tweeted he was off to Leeds and then ALL the Leeds fan accounts jumped on it as if it was gospel.
I'm not saying Ipswich haven't bid but I'm saying we shouldn't take these accounts as an accurate source of information.
