Outgoing? Hamer

But you were talking about selling players for less than they're worth.
We got the thick end of £35 million for Ndiaye and Berge who were both in the last year of their contract and refusing to sign a new one.
That's a decent return, but he's never previously got rid of talent for less than what could be considered a sensible market value.
How much do you think Hamer is worth?

If we've been clever, all key players including hamer will have £30m release clauses, as that's typically the amount required to make up for losses after PL relegation

Great idea if you can persuade the player to sign that contract but very much doubt they will.

Exactly, I would think Hamer would want it low enough that he get's offers if we're relegated, so he's got a route out of here.
If he wasn't concerned about playing back in the Championship, why have the clause, especially for the team who were one of the hottest tips for relegation, who'd also just sold two of their best players?

Why would we have been clever by doing that? All a relegation release clause does is limit the amount that the relegated club can make on a sale.

And we won't have been, because the club is a twat.

Presumably the release £ is higher if we're in the PL and lower if we're in the Championship

It puts us in a stronger negotiation stance, easier to set a red line on price if it's in writing, same happened with ramsdale

It really doesn't. There are two possible situations at play:

a) No team is willing to meet the relegation clause. In which case, it serves no purpose at this point in time. This does not prevent us selling the player if a fee is agreed for all parties.
b) One or more teams value Hamer at or above what the relegation clause is set at. In which case the club only ever loses money - if a relegation clause is £25m, we sell for £25m. With no clause, we can sell him to the highest bidder, and bids can exceed that amount.

Tbf, I'm interested in banging Scarlett Johansson but until such time as I have the right financial package in place (billions in my case as I have a face like a mules arse) then I can't see a deal being done. Money talks. If Roma want Hamer then they need to show the readies.

Fine, pay his release fee. Quite simple really. That’s what they are there for.
Yep. If we don't hold out for his clause, then there was no point putting it there to start with. I'd much rather have him stay, but if we have to sell him then we should squeeze out every penny we can.

Every player has his price but If these potential new owners are serious then I don’t see him sold for money similar to what we paid

Unless he has a reasonable release clause in his contract, which if his agent is worth his salt, he will have insisted on.

What is the release clause ?

Very much depends on if the takeover is going to happen. Otherwise The Prince will see this as an option for him to raise funds/income for the season ahead.

You'd think he'd stick with us if the takeover materialises.. Ticket back to the Premier? Maybe Anel and Vinny have a change of heart too?
