Outgoing? Hamer

Like the idea of us in attack with that, the downside for me is Burrows would be excellent attacking but terrible in defence so we would need a solid LCB, McCallum not so much going forwards but better in defence, if we could have a McBurrows it might work well!
McBurrows 👍

I’d play 3-4-2-1.

I think now Brooks has gone, you have no bona fide winger. I think a front three of Bamford supported by O’Hare and Hamer as two 10s allows good creativity and goalscoring.

You can then free Seriki and Burrows/McCallum who most would accept fit the wing back role well.

Already it feels you are making the best of what you have without unwanted or expensive recruitment.

Presently you have Peck, Arblaster and Rothwell for one role and then need to recruit a more robust defensive partner, be that Riedewald or Phillips, Choudhury, or similar, a couple anyhow. I wouldn’t be shocked if Wilder tried to get Lundstram back. Not saying I agree but it’s the sort of thing he’d consider.

Then a three allows to cover for some shortcomings. I’d probably have Tanganga-McGuinness-McCallum if the game was tomorrow but you’d focus recruitment there to improve that lot. If you end up ideally with maybe Walker-Souttar-Tanganga though appreciate a LCB is preferred.
The only issue with that line up is we only have Seriki with any pace in attack. It was the same last season too. Hamer, Bamford, COH, Burrows are all slow.

I've been turning over the same conundrum in my mind, trying to avoid the Lampard-Gerrard problem, and I was thinking something similar. Shame Hamer and O'Hare aren't Saka and Rashford, eh?
We'd definitely need someone like Riedewald to have the discipline to shuffle across when Seriki or McBurrows go up.
And we'd need a backup for Seriki of course.

Wilder is definitely going to be in for Lundstram if Trabzonspor release him

Mark Robins had no problem playing Gus and O'Hare in the same team together.

This is the formation for me, too. Been banging on about the reasons you give for a while.

The only issue is the lack of a plan B...

In fairness this is back when Hamer was in decent enough shape to be a proper box to box midfielder. Capable of dragging the ball up the pitch and creating chances for the forward talent they had.

We saw this Hamer for the first 4 months but since then we’ve have the out of shape, play on the left and cut in version.

Saw him in the gym with his missus the other day.

All I can say was if she was my other half I'd be getting lots of exercise

If it's the same lass, I saw them both in Tesco on Abbeydale Road (somewhere our players are often spotted) and to be honest all I remember was bleached blonde hair, big boobs, a load of fake tan and jewellery. I am sure she is a lovely person as well though.

I’d hate to fill the squad with injury prone players but I’d be really interested to know how well Isaak Touré has recovered from the injury he got on loan at Udinese.

The bloke is left footed ✅ six foot nine ✅ likely available for loan ✅ good at bringing the ball out of defence ✅

I think if you had him as left centre back and fit he'd be a decent addition as LCB.

She told Gus you were a stunner
