Outgoing? Hamer

Personally I wouldn't be so keen to get rid in January.
We all know that he has quality and in this division amongst the best midfielders around. He's struggled for form this season, but then again so has the whole team.
Needs a goal or some good assists to get his confidence back a bit. Was unfortunate against Hull not to score.

However I do see the merit if we have pulled ourselves away from the relegation zone but not feeling too optimistic for playoffs that cashing in could be an idea.

Having said this, however doubtful this is. (Mainly because I reckon he does fancy a move back to Holland for family reasons) if he was open to extending his contract then why would we cash in then?

We've got so used to our key players getting into the last year of the contract and being sold. Or even running it completely down that we are forgetting that it's also possible for players to extend their stay. Unlikely in this instance because I do feel that come January or the summer he will be somewhere in Holland or close too.

This injury, assuming it isn't too serious could be the best thing that happens to him. He looks like he needs a break. Let's hope he comes back with a fire in his belly

Hamer should've tried to get booked on Saturday while eating his balti pie in the stand to serve his 1-game suspension for getting 5 yellows. You know that when he does come back, he'll get booked in his first game and be suspended.

Can't see it happening. Great player, but he'll be 29 and as much as I love Gus, he doesn't exactly look after himself like most athletes do! Would try and get rid in January, and get as much money out of Leeds as possible.
They said in the summer they had a load of money to spend to try and keep them up. Although a long way to go given the current standings if they are around just above the relegation zone, I think they will have a splurge. Although I haven't seen much of Leeds this year and unsure where Gus would fit into their plans/formation as they seem to play a 4-3-3 so it would be either on the left or centre mid, is he good enough especially coming off the back of an injury of however many weeks? Time will tell, but we will have to replace or at least strengthen elsewhere, their last minute bid in Aug/Sept was supposedly either a £2mill up front with a deal of £13mill on the cards or some form of swap deal with Joel Piroe. If that offer was in January, I could see us taking it as he does have form (not a like for like swap) but as a 10, he is a 1 in 3 at worse at Championship level (73 goals in 181 games (Swansea and Leeds)). Could easily slot into the formation and we have cover if Hamer did go.

Hasn't his missus gone back to Holland and taken their son with her? If so I could definitely see him returning there in January if we can get a decent fee..

If true, it's no wonder his hearts not in it this season.

That's hard for anybody.

Feel sympathetic that he didn't get his move to Holland this Summer.

Forget how much he's paid, that's hard for anybody. Nothing comes before your kids.

He must've had his heart set on it because I understand the issues you speak of were around during the Summer.

He should have played 1 minute got booked then subbed off. 😄
