Outgoing? Hamer

We have made a complete pigs ear of this transfer window, signing over the hill sludge on big wages and selling our best players (again). Yeah I’m beginning to be convinced these owners are taking us down.

Just had to be that lot as well didn’t it.
I'm ok ish with Hamer leaving if like Bogle he was desperate to leave. But by all accounts he isn't and we just seem desperate to offload. So we've swapped Hamer, if he goes, for Chong at present. If Solomon comes in he's arguably like for like Hamer quality given he got 10 goals and 11 assists last season. He's a left winger though so where that leaves Barry I dont know.

All I would say is Hamer hasn't played well this season, mainly because Selles is playing him out of position inu view but if Selles sticks with 433 then I do t think we'll get the best out of Hamer anyway. Of course Selles could change to 4231 or be out in a week anyway.

Back to Hamer and If like to know why we're selling Hamer unless we're reinvesting with permanent additions because loans is just short term gambles.

Over the hill sludge? Like who?

Lots of people are saying Hamer doesn't appear to be forcing a move, I'd rather see Selles leave than Hamer - selling the spine of a good team is football suicide...
I don’t think Selles will have ‘sold’ any of Souza, Anel or Hamer. He probably asked for Moore to be moved on but that’s about it.

92 points last season and Hamer player of the season.
We must have had some idea what we were doing with him.
That’s fair comment.

But he’s not a left midfielder and I still think there are more optimal positions for him.

As I said 3-4-2-1 would suit him well where he can work on his creativity, be central and involved yet not be tied down by defensive burdens.

Strange Leeds have wanted Solomon this summer and surely if they have money its best to try and get him. Better stats than Hamer last season.

Hamer is 2 to 3 years older than Solomon and with less re-sale value. Throw in the issues he has with his fitness at PL level.

For balance

Leeds have had an interest in Gus for ages
This isn't anything new
IF he doesn't see his long term future here, we take the option to move him on now to maximise our take on it
IMO he was rarely fully fit under the previous management. Maybe a PL S and C team can take him to the next stage. Maybe it's what he needs next.
Our best player last season, based on moments and not consistency over 90 minutes
We had fitness issues across the team and squad last season, that compromised our ability to see games out
What if he doesn't want to be here?
IF he goes, GLTTL and we find a way forward.

To be clear, this is nothing like us losing Ndiaye, Deano (Brian, THE Deano, NOT Henderson the loanee) or Jan Age.

As much as I like Gus if we get a good fee for him given his age then it could be good business. Although if he does leave it has to be to abroad, can't be having him go to Leeds.

Whenever we sell GOOD we never ever replace with AS GOOD. Lets just keep Hamer we know he's GOOD.

Plus the signings thus far totally uninspiring - no chance we should trust this recruitment team -(whoever they are).
Never a good idea to lose the Championship's player of the year

Hot Take - Hamer makes us unbalanced and vulnerable to counter attacks. He’s not fit enough to play in the middle which is where he’ll be playing if he stays. I think him leaving could be a blessing in disguise. One sporadic moment of magic is not enough, we need athleticism and consistency in the middle.
Not Hamer directly but you can’t have O’Hare & Hamer doing the same thing. It leaves Peck on his own to do all the graft.

We aren’t going to sell O’Hare and if we get anything like £20m for Hamer and can make the team more than the sum of its parts for I’d sell him.

Also another one of the PH mentally weak team, won’t be too upset if he goes.

Conor on one Leeds you tube channel not confident that Leeds will sign Gustavo as the noise coming out of the lane is the players signed or in the pipeline to sign are to supplement what the team already has and are not to replace players . Time will tell . Hopefully Gus stays and can see the influx of players coming in that are making a weak team strong again .
