I don’t think there are dozens & dozens, it’s a fairly small number who make a disproportionate amount of noise. But, as always in these situations, it vividly sorts the men from the boys on here.

Not sure how we ended up with ‘egg on our face’.

They tried to get Hamer, failed and ended the window without the no 10 they craved.

The fact we hit them with an unexpected rabbit punch on Piroe, was a bit of tit for tat to just show we weren’t going to take their tactics laying down.

Leeds are the losers in all this.

Hamer is as committed as ever. He’s our player and played well at the weekend. Meanwhile, despite him scoring, they still have Piroe, a player the journo admits won’t fit.
 
So it’s OK for them to try and disrupt one of our players, but it’s not OK for us to try and disrupt one of their players and we now look ‘a bit silly’. This is S6 levels of delusion. Hamer is (and will be) a better player for us, than Piroe will be for Leeds. All I can say is ‘Aah. Diddums.’

That's good to hear, although, usually when fees are agreed the player goes. I presume they'd sound that out during the process. You rarely hear of players failing to agree on contract terms anymore.

I think (although it shouldn’t happen) it’s often sounded out through agents before a bid is made to see if A the player would like to move and B what ball park they’d want in wages.

That way once a bid goes in they’re confident they can get the deal done.

Usually if the clubs are not miles apart in valuation they’ll negotiate the contract in parallel.

This kinda fits with the narrative that this bid was a saving face / unsettling the player jobbie rather than a serious move to buy him. Hence no agent involvement

This is exactly what happens when you get just random people who know fuck all claiming they know everything. They've to come up with all sorts of shit to seem relevent and because the world is more concerned about what's a 'drama' more than factual information they need to...ahem, stretch the truth.

Can't remember where I heard it but I did hear someone once say, with regards to social media people - "They're not called content creators for nothing"

Wow! That doesn’t put him or Leeds in a good light.

He’s effectively said that they went for two players they never really had a chance of getting but asked anyway. One didn’t even get as far as talking to the player as the offer was shite and the other didn’t want to come to the championship.

It doesn’t sound like our response or lack of friendly face was takeover related, just didn’t take kindly to a derisory offer from Leeds

When you also consider that they’d already done business with us with Bogle and then Shackleton, the friendly face comment is all the more embarrassing for him.

Seems more like trying to save face with Leeds fans. It sounds more like they didn’t intend to spend to get a replacement in
 
Sick of hearing this bullshit from Leeds. We didn't want to sell which is clear but all these nobhead clickbait sites of there's spinning it like we we were being dicks. They were totally out of order. Made a pathetic offer trying to turn Hamers head and it failed. Now they want to make out like we we're the ones with 'egg on our faces'. So hope we pip them to promotion. Bellends.
