If Leeds had agreed a fee, it sounds like he'd agreed personal terms.

Why would he say no to going to a club with similar potential for higher wages? It’s not as if he’s got any great attachment to this club after one disastrous season. He’s a professional footballer, he’ll want to go wherever best suits his career aspirations and bank balance. Nowt wrong with that.

Hence why Wilder ridiculed their supposed £13 million.....that figure isn't even a serious bid.

This report from the Leeds newspaper was meant to try to get some revenge/ save face for Rak Sakyi choosing to come here instead of Leeds.

I was totally relaxed too.
The only way we were selling Hamer is if we received offers above market value and also we had better replacements lined up.

However my confidence in Bettis has taken a knock today.....total madness that we've not brought in a striker.
Think we're good enough for top half.....but top 6 is going to be tough.
Can only think the new owners are hoping to make it tough for Wilder so they can sack him, bring in their own man, then give him decent funds in December. At least if Wilder is struggling...then when he's sacked the fans will be supportive of the new owners.
I suppose the task is to stay within striking distance of top 6.

Overall, I think this window has been very good, but time will tell. We will know where we stand around the 10 game mark.
