Duffy had a great spell for us but over the history of their careers I think you would find very few outside of Sheffield United who would say Duffy is better than Hamer.

I can only judge on what I've seen both players do for us, and Duffy is currently miles ahead. Though they are very different players so its not really a fair comparison.

As much as I like Hamer, he is nowhere near the level of Duffy, certainly not in that role at least. Duffy is by far the best I've ever see play that position for us.

Definitely, very hard to look good in a pretty abysmal Premier league team. I think he will be outstanding next season, he has to be to move his career on to the next level. I quite like the look of our midfield for next year.

He's exactly the sort of player that fails at Sheffield United. Skilful, with a bit of vision and ability. It's an absolute no no at this club.
Some on here think he'll be fantastic next season in a lower division as he was for Coventry, but he won't be.
They are forgetting one small detail, Coventry try to play a bit of football occasionally and a player with a bit of skill and vision is useful.
But it's of absolutely no use to Sheffield United whatsoever.

Of course there are, a case in point being Paul Coutts who I regarded as exceptional for us until his career changing injury. There are others on here who prefer Norwood who was an influential player for the Blades, I just happen to think that Coutts style of play and his overall influence on the team was far greater than Oli's.

I've not actually seen many comparisons with Duffy but it's an interesting one to make. Duffy was outstanding for us and definitely one of my all time favourite Blades players to watch. We've never really replaced him and the "Duffy Role" has remained empty since we switched to a flat 3 in the 19/20 season.

I'd love us to be an attacking team next season and sticking Hamer in the Duffy role would be worth trying, with Arblaster and someone (Souza?) behind.

Hamer is a great player but so was Duffy who didnt get the chance to play in the PL
He did far more than score THAT goal against the Pigs
Thing is Duffy didnt cost us £16m

Both are/were excellent players…we must keep Hamer and build around him. I do think next season may be his last for the blades though.
