Don't know if anyone noticed but it was hamers job to block Lindsay on corners
Watch what he does
Yep. And to blame for one of the goals midweek where he completely misread the flight and was then shrugged off.

I don't think anyone is doubting he's got ability on the ball but football isn't just that otherwise futsal players would make it in the real game.

McCallum definitely strengthens us on the left, but would still be doing the work of two men.
I suspect we'd probably get the best out of Hamer behind Bamford in essentially a free role in a 4-4-1-1.
But then, O'Hare on the left wing, or left out (if CW surprises us and signs a left-winger)?
Best Hamer has looked is when he was played in the 10 when we experimented with that 3-5-2. Really got to see glimpses of how he could run games and not let other teams exploit our left flank so much.

If Hamer stays we absolutely need to bin Burrows off. The combination of those two on our left hand side has cost us more goals than Hamer’s goal contributions. Hamer is a positive for us if he has a proper LB behind him.
Yeah burrows last two contributions of the game yesterday sum him up for me
Neshed a challenge he was favourite for and then filled his y-fronts when given a chance to score
Mcallum was fine with hamer In Front of him

Why not play McCallum with Burrows in front of him as the left winger

I'll be sad to see him go, but I will understand. I just hope it isn't to Cov, those weirdos seem to feel that they are entitled to him.
Happy to let him go if it is for a substantial fee otherwise being still under contract we have to have a value on him of what is he worth to us in the squad i.e who is his replacement/is his replacement already here? What are we targeting for next season as progression and can we meet those targets without Hamer if the answer is still yes then make sure we get the fee we want if not don’t go selling just for the sake of it as we need to replace him.

He has 1 year left on his contract. Think we are saying £5m max for him and that won't be all up front even for a prem side.

At 28 years old, it will be a good steal for someone that's for sure.

Where has the info of us asking £5m for him come from?

Get him signed up for another year, stop messing about

This reads as its come from Hamers agent and basically says "pay me and I'll stay"

Gus basically said exactly the same thing on stage at the awards night on Sunday.

He was asked the question by the compere and he responded with how happy and settled he is in the area and how his son loves the school he's at. He then said it's not up to me, you need to speak to the table in the middle over there (where Bettis was sat).

Less a "Come and get me" plea, but a "Come and keep me"?

I said it on Twitter, I'll say it here:

Big believer in wage structure and club friendly deals, but with Gus - ask him and his agent what they want, give them exactly that.

So much for his family being in the Netherlands and hence him being unsettled...

Switch to a 4-5-1. Riedewald holding, Hamer box to box, COH as an attacking mid. Two wide mids and Bamford up front
That's just filthy and i like it 😍

-----------Cooper

Walker - Souttar - Tanganga

-----------Riedewald

Seriki- Hamer - Phillips - Burrows or new signing

-------------COH

------------Bamford

or summat very similar.

Think Peck will deffo go.

He’s not signing a new contract.

The club, left with no other option, will be forced to sell.

Shame.

Wilder needs to stop being so stubborn and just go back to the 3-5-2.

The full backs we already have here would make much better wing backs and I think Gus would be brilliant in the "Duffy role"

I’m not convinced by going back to a back 3 if I’m honest. The clamour for 3 defenders masks how shit ours have been this season imo. When we had Souttar and Anel we weren’t looking back to 352 and we certainly won’t be signing Bash and JOC this summer.

Most top teams play a variant of 433 / 4231 which can expose a back 3 with a wide player getting in the gap between the wing back and the centre backs. We saw this a lot during our relegation from the prem. once we’d been worked out teams left pace hugging the touch lines and as soon as we conceded possession they were in down the sides.

I’d just like us to sign another natural wide player, keeping Brooks. I’m disappointed we never got to see it last season with BBD or Raj Sakyi on the left, Brooks on the right and Hamer in the middle.

Playing him centrally will mean he isn’t having to track an athletic fullback or winger back into his own half as often. His pressing responsibilities would be onto a defender or a defensive midfielder. He wouldn’t then be leaving borrows / Mcallum exposed to a 2v1.

In possession he constantly wanders inside, which also leaves Burrows /
Mcallum isolated without the option of a pass down the line / overlap. He isn’t fast enough to beat a man for pace - let a natural winger do that. We’re so unbalanced as a team with him as a faux winger.

Playing centrally he can wander side to side and take the ball from the left or right and gets our most creative player on the ball more and hopefully also into more goal scoring position.
