Question is will he be the same player. Is Blaster back next season we missed him a lot in midfield
That doesn’t sound right, pretty sure he was suspended for 3 games…and must have been injured for at least a couple. He was rested for the last away game, wasn’t he sat in the away end?Not sure what people are going on about Hamer's supposed fitness for? This season he's started 39 games out of the 46 (and came on as a sub in 5, meaning he only missed 1 game) and played 90 mins in 21 of them (more than half). His average time on the pitch when he starts is 83 mins. Add to that he's been played as a winger this season so will be doing more running than what he's been used to in his career where he's always played central midfield. Wish I was as fit as him!
His run in the final for Campbell's goal showed how fast he can be. He also got a yellow cards for running back quickly and tackling players. He's quick but he doesn't recover between runs fast enough, and that's a fitness/conditioning issue of which he's not the only one.Hamer actually covers a lot of ground defensively. I'd like to see his GPS stats as I reckon he's fitter than most of us think. His physique leads many to assume he's unfit and that is compounded by the stories of people having seen him 'refuelling' badly. Undoubtedly he could look more like an athlete but maybe he's just a Gazza body type?
It's a huge issue with Wilder's attitude. Imagine weighing up staying or going next season. Then, after a heart-breaking defeat at Wembley that cost you a chance to play in the Premier League and probably £500k, when you needed an arm round you or some words or consolation, your manager storms off and deserts you. You're leaving aren't you? I wonder what the foreign signings make of him. He's not a leader. Everything is his way and if it doesn't work it's not his fault.Do you really think players are going to listen to Wilder telling them not to drink during the season and to act professional after what he was videoed doing after beating Wednesday? You lead by example and inspire people to follow. Wilder is not a leader, he's one of the lads.
Much as I dislike Leeds, I don't much care for Everton either. Perennial relegation dodgers. It's a huge issue with Wilder's attitude. Imagine weighing up staying or going next season. It's highly unlikely now that they'd get relegated though. Given the promoted teams usually go down. New stadium. Finished 13th. And bever get relegated.Much as I dislike Leeds, I don't much care for Everton either. Perennial relegation dodgers.
Biggest game at Wembley he didn’t go missing. Made a goal and crossed a fantastic ball and albeit for an absolutely out of this world dive would have been a goal. Not too fussed at him leaving- not the fittest and has gone missing in some big games this season.
Ffs you’ll see what shit we’ll get with AI if they are good enough or fit enough to make the first team squad. There’s inevitably going to be some outgoings and whilst it’s a shame, Hamer looks to be the most likely to leave.
I just hope there’s a decent plan for the incomings and I hope it’s not just on Wilder’s say so - he’s done a lot for this club but his signings, particularly with money to spend, particularly recently, have been hit and miss and we can’t afford to mess up this season.
They must take some of the blame, for the fitness issues! Half the team don't look fit enough, 60mins & there bolloxed! That doesn’t sound right, pretty sure he was suspended for 3 games…and must have been injured for at least a couple. There’s no denying he is technically brilliant but his fitness levels aren’t where they need to be. He usually starts strong and goes quiet in the second half. Not sure if the blame should be directed at our fitness team for this.
Which means he’ll be signing Peruvian second tier playersWilders ability to make big transfers is surely diminished by the fact that recruitment is going to be data driven according to the director’s statement
No the best premier league players are consistent repeated sprints and Hamer and the vast majority of Championship players can’t do that and hence they end up in a relegated premier league team if they are fancied.Question is will he be the same player.
Goes for most of the teamhe is technically brilliant but his fitness levels aren’t where they need to be
These are fit lads but the championship requires fitter and faster than ever, they will only play in the championship if they can’tThey must take some of the blame, for the fitness issues! Half the team don't look fit enough, 60mins & there bolloxed!
12 extra games, less recovery time? It's weird how Hamer could last 80-90 mins in the Premier League despite scoring goals and getting assists, and yet he can only manage 60-65 mins in the Championship.
That might have had something to do with how shit our bench was last year. Plus the scoreline was usually unsalvageable after 60 mins anyway so didn't really matter if we got fresh legs on or not. It's weird how Hamer could last 80-90 mins in the Premier League despite scoring goals and getting assists, and yet he can only manage 60-65 mins in the Championship.
Yes you're right about the total games he's featured in (think my list just missed off the games he didn't play in). He featured in 44 league games including the playoffs so he missed 5 games. When he started his average time on the pitch is still 83 minutes, and he played 90 minutes in 21 (so 48%). I don't know if the 90 minutes means until the end or literally into injury time (altho either way it doesn't suggest being taken off at 70). Here's his minutes for the last 10 games he played:That doesn’t sound right, pretty sure he was suspended for 3 games…and must have been injured for at least a couple. would be good on AI because there’s players of untapped potential in the non-binary leagues
