Just out of curiousity.

Can anyone reputable confirm the capacity of our fabulous, beautiful, home...
BDTBL...

The exact figure please.

I asked for someone 'reputable' ...

Thanks Blades.

The reason for the original question...

Our neighbours, I have been told, by a figure who works in a well known Council Dept,
that their capacity is now going to be around the 30,000 mark. Hence the 'sell out' attendance yesterday being
9000ish short of what everyone thought was the capacity. This will then be reduced to 28,500 from next season, but the
figure that shocked me .... wait for it....

If NO improvements are made in and around the stadium, in five years time, 21/22 season beginning, it will be 15,500

Any tourists lurking, we'd like to know your thoughts.

Yeah yeah yeah.

We all know how SWFC City Council work;
"Paint those bogs again and stick another big sign on the side of your Kop and we'll increase it to 40k. There may also be Council grants available, for you keeping all those plebs off the streets".

I'm hoping that if they don't go up in the next couple of years that the Tuna Fisherman will bugger off and they won't be around in 21/22.

Fuckin ell, better keep that one quiet. 25% of Sheffield and all of South Barnsley will spontaneously combust.

It's the City Council who are instigating all these cutbacks at The Sty.
Seems what's going off is some divide between the Council/SYP & that club.
Though that's an assumption I can understand.

Apparently, they're cordoning off areas in the ground for H&S reasons due to hooliganism between home supporters and......
home supporters!

In the PL season in 2007 we had a few sell outs.
The highest being the Wigan match at 32,604
Our official capacity during the PL season was 32,609.

However 2 years ago we had a total sell out (including restricted view) against Spurs in the cup semi final.
That night the attendance was 30,236.

So although our official capacity is currently given as 32,709 (seems the club has found 100 seats from somewhere). I reckon if we have away fans in the ground our actual working capacity is just over 30,000 with 2,500 seats unused and netted off for segregation.

If i'm looking, I still cannot see it.
Nothing on the OS with exact details of our capacity.
Maybe it increases/decreases depending on the opposition?

Since the PL days, the comfy padded seat section on the SS seems a fair bit bigger. Plus we've got a new comfy padded seat section on the JSS. Together these have knocked a few hundred off capacity so I'm with Presty on this one. 31,810 it is.
