Gillespie wasnt a striker. He was more of a creative inside forward. When Jimmy Dunne became our main striker in the late 1920s and late 1930s he had a better goal ratio than Johnson. Fred Tunstall (left winger) provided a lot of crosses for Dunne to score hence the regular newspaper headlines "Tunny Dunn it"
Technically, correct, but we were probably playing five upfront at the time
