I don't think anyone has yet mentioned Windass and Kabba for a short spell those two were ripping defences to pieces, Deane and Agana were the best since Jones/Birchenhall but I would have liked to have seen the Deane/Fjortoft partnership last a little longer, jeez they would have scared any defence.

That was originally used for "Harry Haslam, Danny Bergara Bibbdy bobbdy boo"....etc, wasn`t it?

No, it was originally used by Walt Disney in Cinderella, 1950:

Salagadoola mechicka boola bibbidi-bobbidi-boo Put 'em together and what have you got bibbidi-bobbidi-boo

Salagadoola mechicka boola bibbidi-bobbidi-boo It'll do magic believe it or not bibbidi-bobbidi-boo

Salagadoola means mechicka boolaroo But the thingmabob that does the job is bibbidi-bobbidi-boo

Salagadoola mechicka boola bibbidi-bobbidi-boo Put 'em together and what have you got bibbidi-bobbidi bibbidi-bobbidi bibbidi-bobbidi-boo

Mechika Boola was a Nigerian target man and Salagadoola an Argentinian goal poacher. They were a great partnership - far better than Hulse and Stead.

Duggie Brown - when i saw him I knew we had hit rock bottom just a few short years after the likes of Woodward and Currie we had this 'shoot on sight' non-entity. But some one mentioned Speedy McGeady, now he wasn't bad at all - certainly one of the fastest player I have seen. I remember one match against Derby when their left back Robson (I think) made the mistake of venturing up field and they lost posession. McGeady got hold of the ball and went like a train down the wing to score. He broke his leg when he was only about 19 and had to pack in I believe.

Oh yes Deane and Agana but only because I cant think of Dearden as part of a striking combo.

Edwards and Hatton although you cannot omit Colin Morris from that. More a trio than duo I know but christ they were great to watch.

McGeady broke his leg in the 4-0 defeat at Man City in March 1976. Dont think he played in the 1st team again after that, although he was in the 1976-77 squad photo

Surely Mike Guy should play up front with Brown with that wing wizard John Flood supplying the crosses ? :)

Ahh, the memories! You couldn't buy a team of that calibre anymore could you?

I just wish some of the sensitive souls who explode at any criticism our precious boys have to take on a match day could have heard how that team were greeted on a regular basis. I'm pretty sure the original Brownie had his passport issued with the name You Useless Twat Brown, he was so familiar with it.

I concur with Silent, Tudor would be my partner of choice for Billy 'F'ng' Dearden.

Butlin and Bource were formidable on their day (that day being at Milmoor in the Tivoli wall collapsing game).

Edwards and Hatton were class for the level they were playing (they were both class anyway but we got Hatton several years beyond his best).

To me though, Deane and Agana were the best pairing even allowing for Jones/Birchy who I idolised as a kid.
