Good write up in the Guardian

A coincidence, I've just read it and was going to share. Very positive about the Blades and is critical of some of the policing, preventing fans getting in.

More positive towards us than most media sources. Brad has definitely picked out the best line. Shame the BBC couldn't give a shit. No mention on Radio 5 this morning and their report on the net was below the report of the Motherwell v Aberdenn game played in front of a mere 4500.
OK Look North did a piece, particularly liked the deluded piglet with the blue and white face paint interviewed before the game. Tears before bedtime eh?

5 live had an interview with Wilder on at about 09:40

I like this bit:

"Three quarters of the nearly 32,000 present bounced with glee, but their hubris was comprehensively punctured a few moments later.

Duffy, a United substitute, jinked into the area from the right and lashed a shot past Westwood, and all Wednesday’s good work from the previous 20 minutes was wasted. It was ripped up, thrown in a bin and set on fire after 76 minutes, when Clarke burst between two limp defenders and clipped the most delicate of finishes over Westwood."

Two limp defenders :D

Without a doubt the deluded will have quickly washed that horrible mess off his face!

Was it the Guardian who did the comically wonderful minute by minute of the cup replay at Fulham the other year?

Also the Huddersfield MBM (Same author too - poor guy) is worth a read

Jacob Steinberg's MBM of the Huddersfield game read at the time as the whining of a spoilt fan of a PL team who we were supposed to feel sorry for because he'd been paid to describe this appalling lower division game.

I try and avoid his work at all costs. I don't rate his writing at all.

Well it was an appalling game...

Well it was an appalling game...

It was. But he was being paid to describe what was happening, not sit there and take the piss because he wasn't being entertained. I was trying to follow the game online (I was watching on a very poor feed) and he was not doing what he was supposed to be doing.

Hardly anything happened in the game though. I went and sat in the shitter for 10 minutes during extra time as I was fairly confident I wouldn’t miss much.

Well, the events described in the 65th minute entry certainly didn't happen.

I thought the whole thing was patronising in the extreme.

I have a feeling that Steinberg is a West Ham fan. I'm sure he's professional enough to keep his team's punishment for cheating out of his agenda...but there's time when there are cracks in that professionalism.
