...where we are selling our best players, and signing nobodies from league 2 to replace them.

We are finally signing the best players from league one and keeping our own top players.

It's so refreshing. We always used to talk about i wish we could sign 'this, that and the other' And now we're actually doing it

Looking back 3 years ago, if we had signed someone like Leonard (and he is as good as Southend fans say he is) then it would've been a revelation

Long live King Chris

In terms of saleability, we are 'in between times' at the moment I think. Tufty started with the club and squad generally going nowhere and now we're on the up with a team of players who are generally unknowns. I don't think for one minute though that clubs are not monitoring Fleck, JOC to name but 2 and they are likely to become targets for lower Prem teams / top Chumpionship clubs / relegated Prem clubs in the not too distant future, unless we can continue our run of course in which case there's more chance of them staying.

You're right in that we don't NEED to sell at the moment, everyone is happy and things are going well but every team bar about 2 or 3 in World football are selling clubs and that won't change as we will no doubt see with Brooks sooner rather than later. The other downside of success is that the better we do, the more media attention we get and the more likelihood of players moving on because of it.

As you say, it's great to see what's happening with the squad and our policy at the moment but to say 'those days are gone' might be a tad premature unfortunately. In the meantime and back to your point, enjoy it while it lasts, it certainly makes a change from the last x number of years.

All that interest in Michael Tonge from Liverpool!

Still 3 weeks left yet. Chris is still injecting Brooks with deadly illnesses and he keeps John Fleck under lock n key. He wheels him out daily to training.

No coincidence is it that we have become more successful when we are not selling our star players at the first bid. The players we have sold DCL and jug ears have been replaced by better players, you can understand selling if the players are not going to be in the first team or if they are disruptive in the squad.

Even if we do sell the likes of Fleck, Brooks... you know that at least Wilder will replace them with good players. His transfer record is incredible and we all know he wouldn't sign anyone like the McEveleys... like the Hammonds or the Woolfords.. He'll sign top notch players, either heard of or unheard of

Completely amazing where keeping your key players and not signing has beens gets you isn't it? Who'd have thought it. Apart from all of us obviously. Thank fuck we're no longer Club Retard.

We don't know that for sure, it's much easier improving when your starting point is League 1 but the higher you get, the harder that becomes and the more likely he would be to bring in proven players. It's all about the balance as you get higher, amongst the unknowns, don't forget he's brought in Clarke, Hanson, Donaldson, Stearman and dare I say, Ched :)

No, it's amazing when you have a team FULL of key players.
One key player amongst a team of ordinary ones could never be a base to build from.
Wilders work before/during last season was the basis for everything :):):)

Good to see you limbering up for Friday.

Keep some vicious invective in reserve and don't shoot your load too soon.

Oh don't worry about that. My load is inexhaustible when it comes to those bastards, and I intend to jizz all over the place this week, even in their hair.

People liked to see and marvel at at good pair of tits, without moaning they're in the wrong place and shouldn't be shown!!

Heathens!
