Well, this is my last away game of the season. Pathetic.

It's mine and I haven't even been.

Outplayed, outfought and outthought by a mid-table side. Well done to Gillingham.
Let's see how Adkins responds. Hope we're not looking at David Weir No.2.

Disappointing day, I can't comment on the match as I'm working, this is our first game, long season ahead, I would rather Adkins seen the problems in defence today than go with it for a few weeks, this shit will be sorted.

Yep, if we'd played this bad and jammed a 1-0 win the problems wouldn't be seen as so urgent. Hopefully this is the early wake up call we need.

The red mist is starting to clear for me now and I can see the logic in what you're saying.
If Adkins didn't know where the squad weaknesses are, he sure does now.

Work today spared me of game But I said few days ago i feared defence isnt good enough because surely a preseason wouldn't turn then into "world beaters" i so hoped to be proved wrong Unfortunately from what I heard post FT on RS my fears were realised & i remembered that on twitter in aftermath of Swindon 5-5 that we needed 2/3 Cb's 3mths later we got 0. Then gave captaincy not to obvious choice of Basham vut to mceveley who wouldve been released if I was charged at the end of last season

Even Facebook is a joke when it comes to headlines:

Sheffield? Championship match?

On a positive note... The Gillingham away stand had no cover on a sunny day and Rochester is a lovely place for a pre-match drink... That is surely what away days are about.

The away kit, Long and the back 4 were so bad I felt I would leave on the 3rd goal and revisit Rochester.

Only player who I felt deserves some credit was Sammon, came on to a pitch after his colleagues had already thrown the match away and gave it a good go.

What a fascinating post - It unfolded like a blockbuster film !!
So positive at the start but then reality set in 1-0 2-0 - At half time the Clappers were looking at rescuing a point but the story then took another turn........................despite a slight improvement just one goal would give us hope......surely Billy Big Boots would come to our rescue ..........................but no bang, bang and we are down and out.................. 4-0 defeat to a Run of the Mill 3rd Division side..............Recriminations start Long is no good always been rubbish why on earth is he in goal ???, our centre backs Captain Mistake McEverely and Calamity Collins (who was regarded as a potential saviour last term) are worse than rubbish (although the manager absolved them of all blame for the goals).....meanwhile Billy Big Boots seems to have snook out despite not scoring a hattrick on his third Blades league debut .........but everything is OK .......Manager Adkins comes on with his usual soundbites that we are all United !......................tell that to the poor sods who spent a fortune watching overpaid prima donnas jog around the pitch being second best all day and having four put past them !
Mr Adkins..........just a bit of advice,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the natives are getting restless and it's only game one !
We have put up with mediocrity for a long time (apparently we didn't even reach those heady heights at Gillingham) - You knew our deficiencies, actually Mr Clough did say a couple of days before he was sacked that a Centre Back was the priority, and you do not appear to have resolved the issue...........Collins and McEveley were never going to be the answer !
