Complete pain, think last train we can get back to get up here is 21.30 ish, so thats a no go.

Just seen theres around 100 tickets left, surprised they havent sold out by now to be honest, although travel arangements and it being a friday probably have contributed to that.

21.47 to Kngs Cross arr 22.11 22.25 St P to Sheffield arr 01.45

Think driving still has to be best looking at that.

I'm driving too. A bit annoying after driving to Exeter on Saturday but it's cheaper at least. Very surprised the coaches are leaving at 1, I'm looking at setting off for 2.30 and thought that was too early...

`Daz, never, ever underestimate the fun and games of the M1 on a rainy Friday afternoon. Either use the A1, or set off now....

We're also driving again.

We can't set off before 4:15 - have we got any chance at all of making it for kick off?? Gutted we won't have time to visit the beautiful centre of Stevenage again - a monument to town planning and British architecture at its very worst.

Coops I used to drive to relatives in Hoddesdon on a Friday and its about 70 mins past Stevenage. It used to take me just over 3 hrs to get there. most of the traffic is heading north not south on friday. That said you may struggle to get parked when you get there

You'd have to leave just after half-time to catch that train, the ground is at least a 2-3 miles from the train station.

If you're bored for something to do and get there really early, stay on the A1 for a few extra junctions and come visit me at work in Hatfield. I can't go as going out Fridays isn't feasible for me, so at least there's no conundrum despite only being down the road! :)

It all depends on traffic of course, but after the Bournemouth game (ie on a Saturday), I got to Huntingdon in just under two hours and Stevenage is about another 35 minutes down the A1.

If you pick up the M1 at the Parkway and then A57 round Worksop, the A1 is much better than it used to be. All the roundabouts have gone, so it's an uninterrupted run and there are a couple of motorway sections, although there are some 50mph sections as well.

I reckon you'll make it and fingers crossed it'll be worth it.

Shhhhh Trig, don' t tell people, let them all clog up the M1 and leave the A1 nice and free :-)

Anybody got any recommendations on where's best to park? I went to the game at Stevenage in November but elected to take my Mrs for lunch in Hitchin first, I then got the train to Stevenage and walked to the ground (15 minutes). Knee knack and a greedy Mrs stops me doing the same this time.

Trains down from Stevenage run directly to my local station (Hornsey) until midnight. Anyone who wants putting up amongst the two women, three cats and numerous whips let me know :-)

There's not a great deal to choose from. There's an industrial estate on Leyden Road which (according to Street View) is ok to park on after 6. It's less than a mile from the A1, too.

As you approach the ground to your right, instead of turning right on the roundabout, carry on across. Then directly on your left is the official free car park where we parked last time. It probably made an easier exit that we got there before pub opening time though!

I always go A1 when I go down that way

Been down the A1 this week for work, no roadworks or other hold-ups, but it's Friday and traffic could be heavier. Look out for speed cameras at Elkesley village, near Retford, and there's another one (South and North-bound) near Grantham.

Yeah, I would have had a ticket like a shot if I could have got on the Club Transport.

We had two Coach tickets returned tonight, if you are still interested you can ring the Ticket Office in the morning and collect your tickets when you board the Coach.

Hi, thanks a lot, I appreciate the offer but I meant the coaches are leaving too early for me, I finish work at 2.
