Gutted to hear this, hope Harry makes a full recovery. I started going in 1985 as an 8 year old and also went to school with a load of Pigs and up till summer of 88 Mondays at school were a miserable experience in the football banter stakes. Enter Dave Bassett who gave me back some pride and I think that period will never be bettered, he beats Wilder for the fact he kept us in the top flight for 4 years against all odds against a backdrop of a board that had no ambition. Just been listening to Harry on the podcast,only able to listen to half of it will be finishing it as soon as possible.
What a character ! takes me back to his time at the Lane his honesty and enthusiasm is still there after all these years (40) it seems like time has stood still ,players and fans alike can't fail to be inspired by him.
The team played without fear and attacked every game,hopefully Hecki will have a similar response ! attack ! attack ! attack ,
Game has changed a lot but playing without fear takes you a long way.
Wilder had a similar approach taking us all the way . Covid took away our momentum and destroyed a lot of what wilder had put together.Can Hecki create a similar situation, ,different character but want's to play exciting attacking football.

Bumped into him at Hunter’s Bar, had to go and shake his hand, we were still talking 20 minutes later….

So as not to detain him, I said “Well Dave, you’re still number one at our house”..he said “thanks mate, you’ve made my day”.
