What if, and this is pretty out there, so brace yourself, Wilder wasn't interested in signing him?
- Judging players isn't like that, that's probably why you think as you do. "Facts available" was probably the wrong term.Deflecting from what?
Its you who cant answer simple questions.
- What facts support your view that Moncur/Tafazolli are better than Duffy/Hussy?
- Would you have spent 8k a week on Tafazolli?
- What made you (partially!) believe we were in for Tafazolli?
Taffazolli and Moncur are not better signings than the best winger in the division last season, as voted by his peers. That a fact.
Now answer the point we started on;
Do you believe Duffy and Hussey are better signings than Tafazolli and Moncur? You can base your opinion on whatever you like.
Absolutely, just to get it down in plain terms. Which pair, before they were signed by either club, would you have preferred? Are you being serious?!
Duffy and Moncur, both attacking midfielders, 1 for a promoted team, the other for a relegated team. 1 made the league team of the year, the other didnt.
I didn't, but Ive stated the facts that are available to us both. And Im happy with the signings.
Duffy, team of the year, Hussey, most assists for a defender in league one.
Moncur and Tafazolli?

Did you say it before they were all signed too?Take a guess.
I was never asked.Did you say it before they were all signed?
Fantastic! So if you were asked you'd have said you prefer us to sign Duffy and Hussey over Tafazolli and Moncur would you?I was never asked.
Fantastic! So if you were asked you'd have said you prefer us to sign Duffy and Hussey over Tafazolli and Moncur would you?
You're getting better and better...
Great stuff. If I was asked the question before, I would have looked at the facts and read about them.
And when you look at the facts and read about them then I would have picked Duffy and Hussey for SUFC yes.
Great stuff.
You know when people form opinions about who they'd like us to sign, is it just personal opinion?Have you managed to figure out why you'd pick Moncur and Tafazolli?
I know you've said you dont have any facts, and you haven't seen them much/at all, so...
Did you say it before they were all signed too?
You prefer Duffy and Hussey. I'd have preferred Tafazolli and Moncur.
It actually makes me laugh what people are willing to do to defend the club.

You know that thing that happens every season.
What do they go on?
Yes, just like Magic. It all makes sense now.
You magic up your opinions, confirmation at last!
Where as the rest of us usually base opinions on something.
Yes, just like Magic.
Not quite at yours or Mike's level yet though.
Work in progress...
Have you made up your next rumour yet?
Yes I think his rumours are excellent.Have you got a crush on this Mike bloke?!
Yes I think his rumours are excellent.
I'd would have imagined that Magic Mike saw the Blades a few more times than you did last season Barney
And this is relevant.I'd would have imagined that Magic Mike saw the Blades a few more times than you did last season Barney
I have never seen tafazolli play live, nor moncur. I have seen duffy and hussey play, I doubt you have seen any of them.
Its not my job to decide who we sign and who we dont. When we sign someone, I will look around for reviews, comments on them etc etc not get a whole skip full of sand in my vagina about players we have not signed.
You havent got a single clue as to whether we even interested in either of Tafa or Moncur despite twitter and forum ramblings but we are "left behind" because we havent signed them. Just any excuse for you to ram up your boring agenda.
I am happy with the signings we have made and will judge our business at the start of the season, then again at the end of the transfer window, not on the 14th of June, 7 weeks before the season starts.
Oh brilliant!
So you start with the "how many time you seen them" line after I state that I think their signings are of a better standard than ours are, and you haven't even watched any of them yourself either.
The facts available is what most people go on when judging different clubs recruitment, and, to me they say that Tafazolli and Moncur are better signings than Duffy and Hussey. The vast majority would have said the same beforehand.
But if you want to carry on deluding yourself otherwise that's up to you.
Did you say it before they were all signed too?

I’ve seen them all play at least once though the 2 who’d performances don’t stick in my mind are Tafazolli and Hussey, probably because they are defenders to less likely to take the game by the scruff of the neck.
Duffy I first saw when we came from behind to beat Scunny in the 2011-12 season at the lane and I was very impressed. He scored a great individual goal that day and I really wanted us to sign him from thereon. I’ve seen him a handful of times since for Scunny/Donny/Burton and whilst he’s generally looked decent, none of the performances have been as good as that first time I saw him. I reckon he could well be a good signing. I just hope we’ve not got him a season too late.
Moncur scored against us at the lane last season and his movement caused us all manner of problems in a first half where they battered us. He is a great threat going forward but in my opinion, can only play as a “number 10”. If Wilder doesn’t choose to set us up that way, I think he’d be pretty useless to us (much like Baxter). The kid is a threat going forward but doesn’t track runners and couldn’t tackle a fish supper. If we were to sign a Colchester player I would prefer Alex Gilbey as he seems to have a better engine, stronger in the tackle and can still pose a threat going forward. i.e. more of a rounded central midfielder which I believe is what Wilder was after.
I really can’t remember a single thing about Hussey but Bury fans displeasure at losing his services bodes well.
Tafazolli, can’t say he stuck out individually. What I would say is that when playing against them, I believe we caused them a lot of problems at set pieces. I seem to recall Butler scored and hit the bar in his only game for us. That said, it was nearly 2 years ago and the lad may well have improved significantly since then. He fits the profile of what we’re after on paper (young, big, just had a good season in League 2).
I’d have liked Tafazolli to have been signed but we don’t know the full details, what wages he was after, what Posh are paying him, whether he is worth it etc. As such, I’ll reserve judgement for now and wait to see who we do recruit in the CB and CM positions.
