Can I just clarify, the only thing Madine has done personally against Sheffield United is score a few goals and call Billy Sharp a fat c**t?

Lots of players have scored against us, and I have heard our own fans call Billy and other players far worse.

Grow up, judge him on performances in a United shirt.

He did also assault a United fan for saying he was a United fan along with several other assaults that saw him doing jail time.

I think some of the defenders of it are pathetic.

He has shown utter contempt for us:

He called Billy a Cunt on camera
He viciously assaulted a guy, simply because he was a Blade.

I can't think of a current professional footballer less suited to being signed by us, based on these facts alone.
Will be earlier than that. When he makes his debut he will invariably be booed and some will take issue.

I agree but you can't tell people how to feel. We have fans saying they are going to boo him and not cheer if he scores. It just seems such an unnecessary risk.
These same fans are the same ones who sang moronic songs about Evans.

The club has its head in the sand and believes this to be a good signing. Just when you thought the fans, players, manager and the club were all on the same page but clearly that isn't the case.

Due to be announced sometime this afternoon apparently.

He could bag a hat trick against Wednesday and punch Ozzy the owl but I won't be cheering that dickhead on.

Fuck that, he might get a high five

Exactly mate. We've no choice but to.

I can't get on board with this big Blade bull that some spout, where no-one should moan.

Football is the most loyalty many of us show away from our family. We can't pick and choose the players our teams sign, but every so often a player will divide a fan base and make some disappointed that they have to support them.

I don't envisage one player stopping me attending games, and I'll cheer if he scores, but don't expect me to be delighted to see him in a Blades shirt at this stage.

Hopefully redemption will come but he's got a lot of growing up to do.

50% of our signings get slagged off by some before they've played a game for us.

How is Madine conducive to the way we play?
Really ? We put more balls in the box than any other team in the league ,we need additional strength and height to cause more problems to the opposition ,do you really not see that ? Why do you think there has been talk of Carroll and Crouch ,for their dribbling ability ?

It's the Lord (Wilder) testing our faith...

It could be a cunning plan.... He's clearly available for loan, there are probably a number of Championship clubs that would be happy to take him. At least this way, he doesn't sign for one of our rivals and then inevitably score against us in a big game.

Away from all the "issues" he has and the past. Another concern should be his lack of game time. If he's being brought in to add to our promotion push, then we surely need someone who is match fit. And we his lack of full game time is he match fit?

BBC Sport reporting its loan with view to a perm as well.
How do you know he isn't match fit though? Is it because he hasn't had a full pre-season with us?

The new Terry Curran. I can't tell you how much I hate him!

Terry Curran was and is a Wednesdayite. He scored one of the goals in the boxing day massacre and another in the 1 - 1 draw in the same season and Wednesday fans adored him. He joined us for one reason and that was for more money.

Gary Madine is a very controversial choice but if Wilder wants him then he's clearly done his homework and the senior figures in the squad have been consulted and given their blessing. He's not a Wednesday legend.

I totally get you don't want this signing but I think he could be a real success here and as fans we need to give Madine our support.

Think some reactions to this signing are pathetic.

It’s all bravado.
We’ve seen it all before. When we signed Marlon King many said they would refuse to go and they apparently knew loads who would boycott the Lane, it proved to be hot air because on his debut the attendance was actually BIGGER than normal.

When we re-signed Ched many were outraged and many predicted that our gates would suffer due to mass boycotts.
Again it all proved to be hot air because gates stayed high and the feedback was that Ched was really popular and very likeable in the dressing room.

Now we have a similiar situation with Madine. Maybe Wilder thinks a bit of adversity and controversy will stir the crowd and make the Lane a hostile fortress again.

That looks very similar to Madine. Looks like it’s in the Mossbrook as well.

Chris Wilder hasn't got much wrong for us so far, and as much as I think Madine is a full weight bellend Wilder knows what United need more than any of us.

I hope the fans who are totally against this signing don't let it get in the way of their support for our club, as the recent games against Derby and Blackburn have shown, strong vocal support has a massive impact on how the players perform on the pitch, I'm not saying I want everyone to start singing gary madine songs, but I do think we should leave the footballing decisions to Wilder. We can judge him on the reuslts at the end of the season.

If Wilder thinks Madine's past misdemeanors are behind him, then I accept that he can bring some competition to the big strrong striker role, it maybe this spurs Leon on to up his performances and Madine only ever plays a bit part role. But if Wilder has identified that as an area we need to improve, and Madine fits in with wage structure/outline fee then fair enough.

I presume there'll be a delay as Colin hunts down a pair of custom made incontinence pants to cope with all the piss he'll be emitting if it goes ahead.
Do you think Cardiff will be getting a great deal? They'll be wanting to get anything back on the failed investment, which they could afford to make given the Premiership millions.
I just can't see why we would have offered to pay a substantial part of his wages, or offer a large transfer fee for a player they clearly want to remove for their wage bill.
