Guilty of some Premier League Shithousery, not ideal but I'm a million miles away from it bothering me. It's a loan, so if it works, great, if it doesn't, he gets sent back to rot in Cardiff's reserves.

Lets face it, anyone looking for role models in football is, I'm afraid to say, looking in the wrong place.

C'est la vie

I guess I’ll just have to get on board with this. Setting aside any opinions about ability (by the way, he’s not a bad player) I really think this is a divisive move.

He is widely disliked by Blades supporters and will have to play out of his skin to win them over. That’s after ignoring the booing for a few games.

Not convinced this is a good idea but if it’s what Wilder wants I’ll trust him.

Exactly mate. We've no choice but to.

I can't get on board with this big Blade bull that some spout, where no-one should moan.

Football is the most loyalty many of us show away from our family. We can't pick and choose the players our teams sign, but every so often a player will divide a fan base and make some disappointed that they have to support them.

I don't envisage one player stopping me attending games, and I'll cheer if he scores, but don't expect me to be delighted to see him in a Blades shirt at this stage.

Hopefully redemption will come but he's got a lot of growing up to do.

A good tactical move for Wilder I think - if Madine helps us go up, great, everyone's happy. If not, and especially if it backfires badly, then Wilder's popularity suffers which makes it easier for him to jump ship to somebody with a bigger budget.
Just beat me to it ;)

Do we have any source for this besides journos' tweets? Cardiff or the Lane?

It's just that I can imagine Warnock, when asked about Madine, giving an off-the-cuff comment to a reporter - something like "Oh we're trying to sort out a move to Bramall Lane for the lad, loan with a view to permanent" even if it's total bollocks. I wouldn't put it past him.

If not, what the fuck are we thinking? There's no more hated player at the Lane.

Never make a judgement based on press reports.
Over the years I’ve had inside knowledge on similar incidents and the press reports have been incredibly mis leading and inaccurate.
Although as they say “there’s no smoke without fire” and trouble did seem to follow Madine around.

In that example though the press were reporting what the court were told (it’s mentioned in the post you replied to). Highly unlikely to be inaccurate or misleading.

The club has its head in the sand and believes this to be a good signing. Just when you thought the fans, players, manager and the club were all on the same page but clearly that isn't the case.

Due to be announced sometime this afternoon apparently.

He could bag a hat trick against Wednesday and punch Ozzy the owl but I won't be cheering that dickhead on.

Wonder how much of the £6M they paid for him will be recouped as well as it's alledgedly loan with a view to.

Still amazed Tufty is going for this, to me the risks far outweigh the slight improvement he brings to the squad. It's one of those split the fans signings, not to mention what it might do to the current fantastic team spirit we obviously have.

He doesn't need to sign Madine as an excuse to jump ship. If he wants to, he will.

Fights on the Kop by March is my prediction.

Will be earlier than that. When he makes his debut he will invariably be booed and some will take issue.

Think some reactions to this signing are pathetic.

I agree but you can't tell people how to feel. We have fans saying they are going to boo him and not cheer if he scores. It just seems such an unnecessary risk.

If he scores the goal that takes us up I’ll start to forgive him.

Can I just clarify, the only thing Madine has done personally against Sheffield United is score a few goals and call Billy Sharp a fat c**t?

Lots of players have scored against us, and I have heard our own fans call Billy and other players far worse.

Grow up, judge him on performances in a United shirt.

I think some of the defenders of it are pathetic.

He has shown utter contempt for us:

He called Billy a Cunt on camera
He viciously assaulted a guy, simply because he was a Blade.

I can't think of a current professional footballer less suited to being signed by us, based on these facts alone.

Looking on their forums, Cardiff fans say they would be glad to see the back of him

If this comes off, Wilder's well and truly taken the 'shithousing' crown from Dean Henderson!
