Thought they were brilliant in the station and on the train home from Kings Cross. Great craic and not being dickheads at all.

Only nobheads I came across were some Blade mouth breathers shouting “Shearer” at random Sunderland fans at 8pm in the station.

No axe to grind with them at all. Had a good chat with a good few of them on the train/tube down. Just confirmed what I thought - both clubs are like peas in a pod - old fashioned, working class, unfashionable clubs with gob-shite neighbours.
Having said that - I didn't want to meet any after the game, much less to have to talk and be civil with them.

The only penisis I noticed yesterday where not Sunderland fans to be honest, they all looked to be out for a good time. Most united where just out for a good time also, apart from the odd few in CP that I witnessed trying to start a fight on Wembley way with shirters. I informed one of them before he scuttled of that today was not about ‘that’ but about enjoying the atmosphere and day out!

Met loads on Friday, then pre and post match yesterday.

To a man woman and kid, they were exceptional. Down to earth, gracious in victory, acknowledging their slice of fortune, completely clear minded they'll get humped next season.

Really not what I Experianced, they where all sound I thought singing and enjoying g themselves or chatting happily amongst blades fans was my experience

That's a shame. Had a chat with a few on the way to the train station and they were all very gracious about things. Mentioned how they can relate, having lost to a last minute goal vs Charlton a few years ago.

Always had time for Sunderland. Seem a decent bunch. I hope they have the best season of the 3 teams going up. Doubt anyone will survive, just because of how absurd the Prem is these days, but I'd like them to be competitive at least.

Leeds and Burnley can get fucked though.

100%, you have nailed the difference. For the time I was in central London, then before and after the match at Wembley, I didn’t see the ne nobhead Mackem. The tifo was a bit silly though. Their hangovers this morning will be worse when they start thinking of the challenge in Premier League, but I wish them luck and hope they enjoy it.

There was loads of em all over and they were all great with me and my missus
Same in volunteer pub on baker st and never a bit of trouble after
Had a few long conversations in hotel later with several they knew they’d been let off the hook 1st half and are realistic about next season

If the “Shearer” guy is the same one I encountered on the train, he was stood by the door up all the way back, beer bottle on hand staring at a lone seated Sunderland fan and shouting “Shearer” constantly. Young kid in their group was a joy as well. Thought it was hilarious to keep opening the toilet door to roll around on the pissy floor.

Does seem like I’m in the minority and I’ve no doubt it was a bad situation - led by pissed up youngens, Blades responded, rest of SAFC fans then piled in on the insults. I get that many fans were probably sound but I just see no reason myself to wish them well over and above anyone else tbh.

We somehow bumped into the same Sunderland lad before and after the game. Had a good natter before the game in a 'if it's not us then I hope it's you!' kinda away and he was really gracious afterwards on seeing how shell-shocked we were after having Dem Blades break our hearts again.
