Just a few general frustrations
Firstly, why is it we never look like scoring from outside the box? Are our midfielders too shot shy or just coached to get the ball out wide that they never even contemplate shooting.
Secondly, why haven't we got a anyone who can really get a ball up and over the wall at free kicks? Hourihan and perhaps Gibbs-White can but they are loanees. I am amazed that players such as Fleck, Norwoood and McGoldrick or even Sharp can't do this after so many years in the game. Our free kicks on the edge of the box are usually pretty poor.
Thirdly, why do so many experienced players almost distort their body shape to play a ball with the 'wrong' foot. I notice this with Stevens and Osborn particularly. Both good players but their inability, or confidence, to make passes with their right foot limits their range of passing so much.

Anyway, to end on a positive note it was a good win yesterday especially after feeling at 70 minutes we were on the ropes and didn't look like scoring.

We never seem to score goals like Stokes yesterday or West Broms winner on Friday

Norwood is also incredibly right footed. Some players just can’t play with both feet it’s not uncommon at all. If Norwood had a ping with both feet he’d be a well established premier league player

Always been a massive bugbear of mine professionals who can't or won't use both feet.

Very few are genuinely two footed but it's ridiculous watching a good solid pro footballer refuse to use their wrong foot in a good position and waste an opportunity.

I couldn’t agree more.
I was taught decades ago to use both feet and I could even, though I was miles away from pro football.
However those pros under 25 do now seem to have learned these basic skills, so perhaps all is not lost for this decade !

Shooting outside the box seems to have been coached out of the Wilder era players by Wilder. Odd as the likes of Fleck and Norwood have scored some cracking goals in the past.

SJ is trying to get those players to shoot more often.

I've had people argue against me saying its completely understandable.

Don't get that viewpoint at all.

I taught my lad to practice with both feet from being an infant.

Most of us are always going to be stronger on one side but I can't believe you can reach the heights of the top two leagues in the country and turn down great opportunities for a pass, shot, clearance because its on your weaker side.

As kids we would play spot but only using our left leg most of the kids at our school could use both feet. Kids no longer play street football they now have nice pitches to play on rather than a back yard, behind a row of garages or in a walled school yard. We wouldn't see any grass until Fridays games period which meant a walk to Concord park and then again on Saturday morning when we played for the school team very few junior schools had a grass pitch to play on in the early 1960's.

It’s a bit of a double edged sword. Slav believes in them, but they still lack confidence in themselves.
Now they are afraid to let him down and worried if they make mistakes.

They concentrate on doing the best they can with the stronger foot.

Only watched highlights, but there were quite a few attempts from outside the box, mostly blocked by a packed defence, including one shot that bounced off a Blades player!

It will come good eventually. Slav now has the problem of which striker to pick, and how to deploy him. Start, or bench?
