Apparently, as part of his SSN interview, McCabe said that if you've already bought a ticket for Sunday, you can claim a free one if you get to the ticket office before 2pm tomorrow.

Any Blades with tickets willing to get the spare ones to pass on to fellow Blades?

Nothing on the latest version of his interview... I await a response from the OS to confirm it...

EDIT: FULL STORY

sufc.co.uk said:
Kevin McCabe and the Sheffield United board have responded to new manager Kevin Blackwell's appeal for massive support by giving fans the chance to help swell the gate for his first match.

The Blades host Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Sunday at 2pm and every supporter who has already purchased a ticket for the game can now claim another one FREE! Fans still intending to buy theirs can also claim an extra one free.

Blackwell said: "I want the fans behind the team and myself and I'm grateful that the Club is making this offer. I appeal to as many people as possible to take advantage and bring somebody along to cheer us on."

The offer - up to a maximum of 6,000 tickets have been made available - requires those with tickets show their ticket when obtaining another, and pre-ordering can be done by contacting the Ticket Office in advance. The free tickets, though, MUST be collected in person.

This offer is only available until the Ticket Office closes at 2pm on Saturday. It will remain open until 7pm on Friday night. Any remaining tickets will be made available on a non offer basis on matchday.

For more information contact the Ticket Office 0871 222 1889.

If anyone has a spare freebie I'd really appreciate it - I'll give you a tenner for it... :)

PM sent TA.

Both mine and Foxy's tickets are spoken for.

If any other Blades have tickets but can't be bothered to fetch the spares, give us a shout because we'll be heading down to the ticket office later and could pick them up for you.

Don't think I will be able to get a free ticket because I've not actually paid for my own ticket, disabled season ticket holders can go to cup matches free as long as you get your card activated :D

Absolute scandalous.

So us with season cards have to produce our season cards or can we just go in armed with our loyalty number?

If I need to produce my season card I may have a problem....

Well there's nothing they can see on the card that can't be found with just the loyalty number... so I'd guess that the number was sufficient?

Just please tell me the picture on the OS isn't one from today!!

If anyone is desperate than I'll let Linz use my customer number for someone, everyone I know is going anyway...

I know 7Updoodah (:D) was on about getting a ticket? Would you have any problems letting him use your number Daz?

I've just e-mailed to ask about the season card/loyalty number debate - although some on BU say they've phoned up & reserved one.

We're going to call down tonight to get our free ones

EDIT: Club have e-mailed back - you just need to go with your loyalty number and they'll issue a free ticket

If anyone has a spare, I've had one person get in touch that I haven't managed to match up to a freebie yet and it would be much appreciated.

Linz = ticket cupid :thumbup:

Be interesting to see how SUFC market season tickets and the 'posh boxes' for next season.....

Great gesture by the club for the tickets for the Boro game though..........pity Boro got the amount of tickets they have though SUFC should have given them the minimum amount.

If they request it, we have to give it them in the Cup. Think it's 25% of the ground they're entitled to, so United's hands are tied.

We've only given Wednesday 3,000, United want it filled with Blades rather than the other team :)

Not true most clubs use the 'for safetey reason excuse'

Before the free tickets were announced (at a complete surprise to the rest of the club, including the ticket office), the Blades weren't expecting to "sell" that many tickets.

Why cut your nose off to spite your face in terms of refusing Middlesbrough extra tickets that there were no guarantees the Blades could've shifted? Especially when gate receipts are shared in the cup.

Been down today to get 2 free tickets for my dad and a friend. Saw McCabe and Robinson coming out of reception, closely followed by Blackwell going through the ticket office, so I'm guessing they've had a meeting of some sorts.
