My best mate is a season ticket holder at Norwich and I seem to remember he wasn't a fan of Fotheringham either. In fact I just asked him what he thought.

Just got text saying "Never rated him. No idea how he ended up captain". The 'positives' were "He had a handful of decent games" and "we never lost 7-1 at home when he started".

I don't think we can really say that of Williamson, he played one half of a pre-season game before getting injured!

Williamson is hardly an unknown quantity, though. He's a solid player in a team in the lower reaches of the Championship who scores 1 or 2 goals. No more than that.

What I want to know is why the f**k we are trialling someone!? We've just sold 2 players for somewhere between 6 and 8 million. We've spent, what £4m of that?

If Blackwell has lost faith in Quinn and Howard, refuses to play Hendrie and Williamson is injured, then why the feck are we not going out into the transfer market and signing someone???

Surely we can spare 500k or 1 million to go out and buy a decent, creative midfielder?! Blackwell trialling a nobody, who has proven zip in several seasons oof championship football is nothing but a joke!!?

Exactly what i was getting at, some fans look at the negatives rather than what a players has actually done well at.

The guy hasn't even played a game yet, but he's being lambasted as not good enough. Williamson has shown at other clubs what he is capable of.

I believe he started the preseason off at Derby on trial.He was not signed!

Not many of the players brought in on trial ever sign, Little was the exception to a general rule of "see you later." But hey if you want to ridicule a player you've never seen and a decision that has not been made have your fun, but it does not make much sense.

It'd be a bit of a dull place if we didn't speculate on conjecture, CFA. Besides, most of the opinions on this topic are based on people's experiences of seeing him - it's not like they're ripping into an academy prospect, overseas player or even a kid out of league 2.

He didn't impress at Derby on trial if I remember rightly, so I can't see him being the answer for us really.

Would probably be brought in as cover for Monty, we don't really have another defensive midfielder now Speed has all but retired.

Hasn't France done the job a fair bit? I'd be more concerned about getting back-up for Morgan - Fortune would probably be a reasonable signing for that purpose.

He plays more down the right hand side I think. I'm not saying it's a priority over other positions at the moment; I'm just presuming that's what Fotheringham would be used as.

I agree, if he hadn't got injured at Bury I think he'd have signed by now. I'm not sure what happened though, everything just seemed to go quiet after he played

Fortune trained Thurs and Fri with us and Fotheringham played a match in Greece yesterday and is rejoining us for training Monday. KB also said that there have been a few players on trial with us this week.
