Forget promotion

You seem to be an expert on our board, so hopefully you can answer something I was discussing last night. Is it true that the Prince can fuck off at the end of year 3 of this partnership? Thanks in advance

No expert on the board I simply commented on the accounts because they are factual. I have no idea about your comment and can't speculate because of that. Sorry.

It would certainly explain why the money has dried up.

So putting "apparently" before a word negates the nonsense that follows?

if it does, you should put it in front of your tag line "accepting mediocrity". Save people time.

But I'm not going to get bogged down in one of your tedious arguments where you pass off opinions as facts and then get mardy and belittling when posters dare to disagree.

So people are gleeful to come on here and waste their time getting angry about it? well apparently, according to Sean?

To be fair, I didn't use the word apparently when correctly identifying that certain people posted the same points at every given opportunity and in some cases, didn't even need a reason other than the urge to do so.

People either sides of the 'debate' post the same points. 5 points of top 2 you know against the board is providing no backing. There is no winner, but certainly lot's of losers, including myself.

Barney,

Your arguments don't make any sense and I thought you said you were packing in on this forum.
Talk about drama queen.

By the way, just seen your other post.
Fair enough.... I agree it is difficult to result posting when you have passion.

I'd try to remain calm. There's plenty of time yet.
We have on paper the best manager in this league.
It was only the other week when everyone was saying that Che is the best young talent in this league and he plays for us.
We have the best full back in this division when Brayford returns.
One of the best goal poachers in this division with Sharp.
And we still have some money in the bank to strengthen in the January window.

Plenty of time left in the season.
We've no where near hit top form and we're still currently sitting in the playoff position.
Mark my words we will be in and around top 2 after Christmas.

Totally true. We are singing from the same hymn sheet. Being fed up of the same posts being made at every set back - and we need to be winning games like yesterday - doesn't make anyone a clapper despite what some would have you believe.

Similarly, the sunny shine feeling posters are as repetitive but generally less strident.

I can read accounts as well.

It did come across as quite patronising, just like you think I've come across that way in this thread.

In your case, patronising, arrogant, conceited, take your pick. The notion that only you see the true picture and have to tell everybody on the board yet again is any one of those.

It must take a special level of self unawareness to start posting again so soon after such a spectacular farewell speech, which reinvented the S24SU flounce, and not even after a defeat.

Apparently not no.

I thought it was Peteblade that was leaving?

In our seemingly endless quest for a decent centre back, your comments on McGahey make welcome reading even if he wasn't outstanding.

Best I have seen him play, but he had to continually pass to Freeman to get the ball out, because our midfield was non-existent. The surging runs of Chris Basham seem to have been left back in last season, he seemed clueless yesterday. Scougall - waste of a shirt, Baxter, trying to control the game from the back, should have been a lot further forward.

Just my observations and opinions of course.

If McGahey would just take a deep breath, grit his teeth and run with the ball, he would be in the opposition half, or even box, with hardly anyone to stop him, I think he is only just waking up to the fact of what a big, strong lad he is. Arguably man of the match yesterday.

A club as big as ours, sat in the third division struggling to get points.

This club is poorly run from top to bottom, the board are arrogantly presuming the squad is good enough, while Adkins thinks that blindly heading into the season without a single competent defender is a smart move.

We fetch in a billy big bollocks of a manager, hoping the effect of that alone will be able to conjure up 20 points, but even with the limited money he's been given, he's made some staggering decisions. Prioritising attack, signing 3 very poor players in Sammon, Woolford and Edgar.

All that, equally complemented by the complete lack of talent throughout the over bloated squad, as a result of yet another poor managerial decision to appoint Clough.

If we don't bring in at least 2 loanees BEFORE January, this season is as good as over as far as i'm concerned.

you do understand promotion dont you

3 teams go up
from the top 6

U nited are 6th after 13 games

so how are we written off

I bet theres fans at Crewe think its still possible
but you want to give up

mind boggling , some of our "fans"
such negativity , so devoid of belief,

I wish we had fans with a back bone
they want our players to give everything
but they give up at the drop of a hat

Im fully ashamed of some of our fans
everything they call players for , no fight no spirit
they display it in every post

Watched the game highlights on YouTube my very limited impression:
  • Poor goal to concede, really hate to say it but Howard doesn't cover himself in glory, but ultimately it's poor goal
  • Great goal by Done
  • Sharp and Scougall simply HAVE to score those chances

Wouldn't surprise if that was right. He will have a get out clause somewhere I guess

However, as recently as just a few weeks ago, one of Jimbob's famous comments suggested that the Prince is in it for the long term it's not in his make up to quit

We'll see

They're only here for one reason and that's to make money so if they can't do that within their agreed budgets, I can't imagine they would stick around.

Saying give up on promotion is like saying give up on your dreams, I for 1 am not giving up on either. UTB

How did Scougall get a starting spot?
Because all our midfielders are poor. But the sad reality, evidenced again yesterday, is that Scougall is wank.

Scougall is wank but moves. Coutts is wank and doesn't.

As poor as we are we are 4 points off automatic, definitely not the time to give up. A good centre half and a good midfielder, and we can go straight up.

I'm not sure we will sign either though.

I'm nowhere near writing us off, but I'd site the evidence of our play-off record in my opinion that we have to finish in the top two.

Because he is talking about the last four seasons you are talking about ten years ago

Depends which side of the debate you are though. They are less strident because they don't have as many supporters. People can understand the moaners more. If you can;t moan on a message board fuck knows where your're meant to.

Barny, I gave you what I regarded as sound advice and you are back depressing yourself and everybody else. United are doing your karma no good whatsoever. Give it a break, you were right first time.
