A club as big as ours, sat in the third division struggling to get points.

This club is poorly run from top to bottom, the board are arrogantly presuming the squad is good enough, while Adkins thinks that blindly heading into the season without a single competent defender is a smart move.

We fetch in a billy big bollocks of a manager, hoping the effect of that alone will be able to conjure up 20 points, but even with the limited money he's been given, he's made some staggering decisions. Prioritising attack, signing 3 very poor players in Sammon, Woolford and Edgar.

All that, equally complemented by the complete lack of talent throughout the over bloated squad, as a result of yet another poor managerial decision to appoint Clough.

If we don't bring in at least 2 loanees BEFORE January, this season is as good as over as far as i'm concerned.

Meadowhall it is then.

Get a grip and stop having such a defeatist attitude. We played pretty well and on another day probably would've taken all 3 points. We were unlucky not to win the game yet lets all have a meltdown! I swear some people revel in losing and having a moan about the team!

You won't be repeating the same post over and over again then if it's over?

Didn't you post on here before at one time?

2 wins off the top and folk are giving up already, only on the land of Sheffield United.

Criticising Adkins for prioritising attacking football over dull defensive bollocks is also a tad unfair.

Nothing is won or lost in October FFS. A tough midfielder and decent CB added to Bob and the Beard will see us reyt.

Don't worry, I won't be on here half as frequently.

I did plan on never posting again but that's difficult when there's so much wrong with the club.

Swapping Sammon for done was pathetic, and expecting Sammon to play on the wing when he has the first touch of a baby elephant well, what can we say about this, got nasty in the stands where we were at the end of the match, frustrations were boiling over a bit, and a few too pissed as well..

We're not good enough and when it's Collins running the ball out of defence to make something happen, then we know we have serious midfield problems, should have swapped sharp for Sammon and played him up front with done and Adams wide, big opportunity missed against an Oldham side down to ten, and they had a spell where they pressed us with ten men, we have a long long way to go...

I had a boss like you once - only happy when he's being miserable. He's a bellend.

And that's very noble.

We need your razor sharp insight at a time like this.

Don't worry, our Plan B (or A?) of hoping the league is really, really shit is still looking fairly promising.

But unfortunately for us it looks like Wigan might have finally kicked into gear.

We played quite good today?? Really was you watching the same match as me, we was playing a team 4th from bottom who have conceded 7 goals in the last 2 games. Yet we can only manage to score one goal against 10 men for the last 30 mins. We didn't have one good player on the pitch and was always going to be one of them games as they proved from the first whistle.

The team. From the first whistle they never looked like they was going to be in it. And bar from a good goal from done they didn't offer a lot at all. Howard and mcgahey was the only 2 that looked half decent today.

Mate, I am not one to argue on here (check all my posts) but if you thought that was playing pretty well, I would love to know where you were sitting, this was almost as bad as Port Vale, we were garbage.

This was a very poor team, 4th from bottom, who had 10 men for the last 30 minutes, and looked the more likely to score at the end.

Unlucky not to win??
Did you go because if you did you spent the whole match in the bogs

I'm no slasher, I just tell it like it is and unfortunately you and I weren't at the same game today

We had several opportunities to score second half, it was more shocking that we didn't given how much of the ball we had and how many chances we had. Oldham barely made into our half after the interval and didn't even get close to scoring second half. Even when they got near to our box they didn't even get close to challenging Howard.

There was no "midfield" today, we were reduced to banging the ball out wide, time after time after time. If I need to single out players I will, but needless to say none of the three in the middle of the park should be gracing a Sheffield United shirt playing like that.

I for one am very grateful to you for reconsidering your self-imposed ban.

We need somebody to point out the bleeding obvious with monotonous regularity.

I went to the game and I thought people massively overreacted at the end. We had basically all the chances second half, should've buried them and if we'd put just one of those in the net you wouldn't have gotten any moaning on here or in the ground. You can call me a clapper all you want, I hate drawing as much as anyone but I'm just saying what I saw.

We were rubbish mate, but I don't agree that we didn't have one good player. For once, McGahey seems to have woken up to the fact that he is a "big unit", he didn't have a perfect game, and certainly made mistakes, but he started doing the basics right and bossed Ricardo Fuller about a few times.

Freeman made mistakes but kept trying, because the ball ended up at his feet, more often than not, and he was having to do the midfield role, as they were pretty crap for most of the game.

"Quote of the day". Agree 100%.

First half, we weren't at the races. A ridiculous goal to give away and a lack lustre effort all round. Midfield again were very poor for me. Second half, better tempo and we created chances. However, our finishing was as bleak as some of the scenery on the way home.

If we are going to do anything this year there has to be a huge improvement and we have to sort the midfield out. I'd start by putting Basham in at CH.

Fleetwood is going to be interesting!
