Young Arsenal striker with bags of potential.
It would be a huge punt, as he’s not played for the first team but is available for £8m as he wants football and is out of contract in 12 months. A lot of Arsenal fans are catatonic about him leaving - Brentford are very interested if they get promoted.

I’ve heard Brentford had a 5 million bid rejected in jan.

If Brentford are willing to bid 5 million for him, we should bid 10 and be glad we won the race.

We won't sign a player who has no experience of adult football

Far too much for us to pay at this stage for a player who will probably need to be loaned out for a season to get first team experience. He'll certainly not get the football he wants here.

But is it To much?

I keep banging on about us starting to acting thinking like a PL club. We are Sheffield ‘McCabe’ United anymore. Investing in young players and bringing young players through the academy is good business. Instead of selling the likes of McGuire and Walker for £5/10m only to see them sold for £80/55m we should be buying young and selling (or utilising) high.

I think (hope) HRH is a real business-sports entrepreneur and that he can raise the funding to ‘think big’ and drop the little ‘ol SUFC who can’t do anything when a PL team comes knocking (que Beattie flu and McGuire sunburn).

Of course this is where we should be, but we aren't yet. The budget doesn't stretch to an £8m potential signing, loaned out with a view to challenging in the 1st team in 12-18 months time.

At the moment the budget has to go towards improving the 1st team squad. Maybe with two or three more seasons at this level we may see a few of those investment signings, but for now we're doing Mumin type young player speculative deals.

If he's behind lads like Willock, Saka, Nketiah etc then I wouldn't be interested for that sort of money. He's probably a winger anyway.

I would be more interested if they were apoplectic ;)

HRH doesn't have that much cash and has committed to spending a lot with the ground etc. I suspect with COVID etc that we will be spending less this summer than last. Oil prices have crashed so I doubt there's a lot of Saudis queuing up to throw their money away supporting a football team which isn't theirs.

We'll be spending £8 million on squad players. Not kids. I also doubt the player would swap being loaned out for Arsenal to being loaned out for us.

Nowhere near the first team at Arsenal makes that fee silly.
I doubt we will have the budget to risk. Last season coming up I would, not this season unless we are definitely shipping out Robinson.
