A busted flush, time to invest in his position and I doubt he’d be a better option off the bench than Osborn who at least brings energy.

Regardless of form and how motivated he is, when he’s not playing in a team with a certain rhythm and pattern of play that suits his style, his mediocrity shines through.

There is the argument that he always starts seasons slowly, but let’s be right he’s been horrific for going on 18 months.

I still think there could be some use for Norwood as a squad player, but Fleck looks finished to me. Midfield needs a complete rebuild

We don’t invest in positions in this club.

In our 2 seasons in the PL we didn’t buy a single centre half.

We eventually got a reserve right back in

Baring Berge didn’t spend anything on central midfielders.

The last time I remember him doing owt good was when he scored against the pigs.

I've been a huge fan for years now, but I have to agree.
He's been out of form for over a full season now and today was the worst I've ever seen him.

I gave up on Norwood a while back but tonight I think I've just lost belief in Fleck too. He's done.

It’s alright though we’ve got 42 left wing backs

Shocker for fleck tonight. He’s been a great player for us but did nothing of note today. I get the bypassing comment above but a midfielder has to sometimes go looking for the ball, demand it and impose yourself on the game
Fleck tonight didn’t do that, he didn’t put his foot in, didn’t create, didn’t drive forward, not a single worthwhile contribution in 90 minutes.

You are quite right
Instead of buying a CB and a central midfielder
Wilder bought a right back and a left back from Derby for £8m and spent was it £3m on Osborn
Great recruitment

All those figures are greatly exaggerated. But I suppose this is what forums are for.

Please tell me the correct figures Chris and why you didnt sign a CB and central midfield player and why you let Freeman out on loan
It was rumoured CW was desperate for a LCB. As soon as JoC was injured it’s pretty obvious you would want a replacement. It never came as the board didn’t want to spend.

Freeman was a weird one. I like him I would have had him involved last season.

It’s a shame when players who have earned their stripes for us and given great service are clearly on a downward trajectory. Bogle and Freeman deserve a chance and we desperately need a ball winner and quarter back. Selections so far have left me scratching my head. Did Burke get booed when he came on tonight?

I suppose we need to remember, he's had Coronavirus and might still be suffering the after effects. But if so, why is he playing. I feel sorry for him too. We know how good a player he has been for us. That's the frustrating thing.
I just hope his health is ok as we all know he can do loads better. I think it's time he had a break from the team and just try and get his levels up somehow. If you read this John I do hope you're ok.

He was crap but, in fairness, our plan tonight seemed to be to bypass midfield entirely and hit long balls to 5 foot 8 inch Billy Sharp. So you could probably have had prime Andrea Pirlo in midfield and it wouldn't have mattered.
We bypassed the midfield because they never showed for the ball and were atrocious. Norwood and Fleck need to rediscover their form of old - sharpish.

Berge needs to demonstrate something his reputation suggests he can, but he’s failed to do in almost two seasons.

We don’t have time for all three to happen - so immediate surgery is needed.
