I've got many issues with this.

Firstly, I followed a link to the Mail, and now feel dirty

2nd - I thought wilder ate his chips at 2 steps before catching a bus to go out for the night. Now we discover his missus uses a chippy half the city away. How dysfunctional is that.

I have a feeling this story may have been a fiction of the blades media team

That's why it's called "Two steps" chippy. Because their chips are o.k. but the fish are rubbish. So the first step is you get your chips from there, then the second step is you go to Manor Top chippy for your fish.

One of the old girls who works in there properly, and I mean properly hates the Pigs too. I always have a good crack with her and you'll get a few more chips on the pile if she knows you are a Blade.

She's a top lass her. Spends a fortune following the Blades everywhere. Takes her grandkids too. I always have a natter with her. And yeah lol, she's not skinny with the chips. Now I don't know anything about her personal finances, but it does strike me how much of her disposable income she must spend on the Blades. An away game must equate to a good few hours working in that chippy day after day! She told me Wilder and the team go in there too.

Yes you're right. I think Tony's been gone some years now. Glad to see they still cook their fish and chips the traditional way. I go in occasionally even though it's nowhere near where I live. I find it slightly amusing that the locals specify which part of the fish they want, e.g. "middle-fish" or "tail-end". In most chippy's you get what you're given, but in Tony's you can choose which part of it you have!

But from what you're saying, if I walk in there with my silk shirt unbuttoned down to the navel, to expose my tattoo of the famous 1970 promotion winning Blades side, it might Currie favour with her and she'll give me a few extra chips? Then it won't be as Dearden?

We started that season in 1970 though SB. And I was so confident we’d be promoted I had the tattoo at Christmas see? I can’t change it now as I’m badly scarred from all the other tattoos I’ve had removed. And I’ve nowhere else to put it as I still have a tattoo of Barry Butlin and Jeff Bourne on each bum cheek.

Had a battered sausage from the chippy the other week for nostalgia, they're nothing like a sausage really. It's like a "meat" flavoured crusty sponge. What meat I couldn't tell you, but they're bloody lovely.
