Clearly we detest Wendy and don't even want to use their name, hence the 'South Barnsley' jibe.

Obviously DirtyLeeds are similarly hated, so perhaps the norm should be refer to them as 'North Barnsley'.

Thus we will have fixtures against: South Barnsley, Barnsley and North Barnsley.

It's a good job Uddersfield got promoted as North-West Barnsley doesn't trip off the tongue so easily....
Leeds is miles away from Barnsley so that would be silly, Wendy are equally as far from Sheffield, hence the reference, as were town CENTRE, we are the only real Sheffield club.

Pigs home will be late Sept/early Oct
Pigs away Feb

1st game away at Villa
Last game Ipswich at home

Have I missed some new 'sensible only' rule for this forum?

If so, that's just about my entire posting history ruled out.
Actually, that would mean were all fucked!!

Liverpool at bdtbl!! Oh sorry that's the first game of the 2018/19 season!!. It'll be Norwich or Ipswich away!. It won't be a home start as we never seem to get a home start very often?. In wilder we trust. Utb FTP

It will be the shittest most unwanted game we want with............. Millwall away, and pigs will get a glamour home game against Villa.

As long as its at home I'll be happy. Maybe someone average like QPR at home.

I'd like Aston Villa or Derby, home or away, I like them.

The rest of the division is a veritable smorgasbord of cunts.

Pigs at home.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I've always been under the impression that it's not possible for us to play Sheffield Wednesday on the first or last games of the season.

The fixture deciding process has certain rules and stipulations that doesn't allow it.

I know for a fact that we haven't played Wednesday in the league in August since the 1920s.

And we always seem to play em when it's cold dark n pissing down.

Really? I never knew that.

I can do irrational one-eyed abuse as well as the next man, but to quote Mr Barraclough, 'I think you are being a little harsh on a well meaning body of men'.

Sure, DirtyLeeds, Dingles, South Barnsley, Scabs all deserve our best vitriol and sustained hatred but there are some shafts of sunlight.

Norwich - Lovely city (crap drive though) with plenty of pubs and friendly locals
Fulham - loads of pubs both north of the river and in Putney. No locals.
Bristol City - similar to BDTBL in being on the edge of a well-pubbed city centre. Locals can be a bit touchy.
Brentford - A pub on every corner (ish).

I agree the rest are a bunch of wankers though.

Brentford I grant you. Same kit, same year of establishment, blades on their badge (the old one at least). I also read that they have the friendliest fans in the country somewhere.

Bristol City can fuck off though. Rovers all the way.

For the Bradford match on Easter Monday, I came up on the train from London and sat among half a dozen of them as they were at the Dingles. A nice bunch of blokes who knew their football and their ale. They were looking forward to re-visiting the Lane due to the many drinking opportunities for away fans. They didn't like the Pig though due to the distance from the city and the lack of good drinking.

Sensible chaps, I thought.

Never understood that attitude about playing us to be honest - not since we built Coward's Way.

Along with Arsenal, Chelsea & Fulham, Millwall is the most central London club. Most healthy people could easily walk from the ground to Buckingham Palace, Big Ben or the London Eye. In fact I've often enjoyed a stroll along the Southbank on a sunny day before a match.

There's plenty of great pubs around London Bridge, before you hoo hop on the train and get dropped off pretty much on top of the ground after a short 4 minute journey. You can take a direct walk way straight to the away turnstiles. Can there be many more convenient football grounds in the country?

And if you aren't looking for trouble you could quite easily enjoy the Bermondsey Beer Mile - one of the best in the country.

Or you could come in from various parts of London, as the Jublilee line serves Bermondsey tube.

The away end had good, unrestricted views and Millwall have a policy of letting home and away fans buy block, rather than seat specific tickets behind the goals - meaning you can sit with friends and family. Plus our stewards and the Met are well verseved and dont mind letting you have a swear and sing.

I get many dont like us as a club - but to say it's the shittiest away day is a bit silly imo.

Plus, The Den is literally the only ground in the entire country where your safety as an away fan is 100% assured. If you are not looking for trouble you can use a special walk way from train to away end.

And if you fancy yourself as a bit of a hooligan, then you can find trouble by simply getting the train to Surrey Docks instead.

So something for everyone.

But yes, be happy if you get Ipswich away!
