I thought I'd dampen the positive mood by asking when everybody thinks we'll suffer our first defeat?

I'd go for Scunthorpe away in September, we always struggle against them.

I appreciate you've been round a long time S64 on here but can you please leave this type of stuff to us professionals? After all, Swiss is trying with his Wilson nonsense and is making a right pratt of him sen at times.

Unlike Micalijo making a prat of himself with his perpetual McCabe nonsense...

I thought about posting the same but was to upbeat to think about it. I will go for Huddesfield at lane or Wycombe away.

Nonsense? You mean the nonsense from Companies House website about losses of Blades Realty Limited and the nonsense about not relying on loan market in summer 2010?

You're a proper ray of sunshine.

I'll go for next season....
I'm not meaning to be negative in the sense some may think. I'm just interested to know when people think the inevitable might happen. I just hope when it does come people don't overreact and start the 'Wilson out' nonsense.

No one is on here to do that, but some who try to highlight what they see as failings of others do an especially good job at it.

own goal :D:o

Critical element for me is how the team reacts to losing their first game. No one will deny that it will happen at some stage but the key thing is how it affects the players and their attitude.
Will they come back stronger, will there be a backlash for the next team they face. Walsall are not anything to be afraid of but Tranmere have started auite well and could present a stern enought test.

I predict the first defeat will be at Goodison on 23rd!

First injury was Ryan or Porter wasn't it?
First sending off will be Maguire - for a rah, last ditch challenge.
First goal against will be Tranny on Satdi

There you go

We'll definitely lose at scunny, probably before that but 100% 0 points from them. might even have a fiver on it

When will the first rendition of 'Danny Wilson's Red & White Army' be sung by the Kop..?
It was being sung on Saturday, albeit only by a dozen people at the back of gangway D.

I'd go for Tranmere. If we don't lose there you can almost guarantee we will at Scunny.

Prove me wrong Danny Boy!

We have a fairly good record at Tranmere - I think we have only ever lost twice there in 9 games. When we were both in the 2nd tier from 1994 to 2001, our record was W2 D3 L2; we drew 2-2 there in our 4th division season and (I think) won there 2-0 in the only other season we have played them in the league - 38-39.

Caused by a suicidal pass form Monty?

i think our 1st league defeat could come at scunthorpe away or huddersfield home as huddersfield is 1st match of the 5 team i was concerned about preseason (huddersfield, wednesday, charlton, mk dons, bournemouth)

I'll go with Tranmere too. Think tomorrow night may be tougher than we think, but if it's tomorrow or saturday, it'll just be a blip-not the start of a spiral.

Tranmere from my perspective too.

Hope we don't underestimate Walsall, but they do look like having a couple of big players suspended and the posters on their main board are far from confident to say the least.

They've appealed one of them and will find out before the game tomorrow if it's been successful.

I take that as a compliment :)
