I hope we're not on Amazon again. It wor reyt dark the picture on there the other night. I don't think they had enough lighting in the stadium - terrible production.
I find the picture on Amazon prime is spot on tbh. The only one I cant get right is the Pick TV channel always looks dark and a tad blurry. Ive tried it in various modes... Auto/Normal/ Dynamic/Cinema/True Cinema and Custom. Also toggled with the background from Normal/ Cool/ Warm and Custom.
The Aspect ratio is no help either.

I don’t know about them things Brian but I’ve been watching other games on NowTV or BT Sports and the picture has been good. But it was poor the other night on Amazon.

Anyhow, the future is that there will be one provider of Premier League games. It will be, the Premier League themselves. It would be stupid of them not to do it. It will take millions of pounds of investment to do it, but it will bring billions of pounds of revenue if they do.

They have a product that the global audience is willing to pay for. So no need to sub contract it to the TV companies. Make your own Premier League TV and cut out these middle men.

It will happen. Eventually.

Its about time something was done. Its pretty ridiculous that its split up by so many different companies.
Are we the only country not be broadcast by one channel for all Premier League football ?

But wouldn’t they need to pay out (or swallow lost revenue) of a few billion to get started. No doubt it’d be recovered in time, but easier if people pay you and you just, well, sort the competition out.

I think it’ll go the other way, they’ll be multiple broadcasters and it’ll ‘only be £9.99’ a month each in addition to your usual TV subscription.

A bit late now I accept, but nonetheless a great website....
www.live-footballontv.com
can check by channel / competition / league and team to find who is showing what
useful for next season and is updated as soon as games are announced
always use browser version as app only tends to show next few days

Prime is broadcast in HD. Pick TV is SD only hence why you might find it a bit blurry.

It was a Competition Commission into the Premier League deal with Sky that split the rights. They thought that by forcing competition would drive prices down for the consumer. It worked out really well...........

They would. It would be a huge investment that would be needed - but if they had their own TV company as it were - then they'd control the worldwide rights and that would be massive. They'd probably need to buy out a TV company to do it as they don't have that expertise or infrastructure, but it's an option. I also think what you suggest is an option too.

Before all this lockdown started I remember a conversation with my son when he was asking if any United games coming up were on TV? I said to him that when he gets older he will look back on these days when football fans couldn't get to watch their team playing, either because they can't get a ticket, or because it's not on TV, and laugh. Future generations will not understand why we were so backwards at making something available to people who want to pay to watch it, either live or on TV.

If anything the lockdown has at least brought a bit of a temporary sea-change in thinking as Premier League fans have been able to watch all their teams games. Let's hope this is a turning point because that's exactly how it should be. You shouldn't be locked out of watching the team you support because you can't physically be there.

I understand what your saying but all the other non HD channels available on Freeview are perfectly fine all bar Pick TV channel which is available in HD via freesat (Which I dont have).
It comes to something when you get a better reception/ picture streaming via a mobile phone than you do from a "Normal TV station.

Does anyone know if Sky Sports Mix is available on the Skygo app on xbox? I don't have Sky but someone has allowed me to use their Sky for the matches but there is limited choice - not that I'm complaining... maybe I am a bit, they could have at least paid for a Sky q box at mine but whatever.

Failing that I can stream it but they can be a bit irritating at times.

It is yes.

It is - but confusingly on Sky Go is not in the Sports section - its in the All Channels/Entertainment section.

Just found out. Cheers! What a daft system to not have it amongst the Sky Sports channels. I'd be annoyed if you know, I was paying for it.

No one that has Sky has to pay for it.

Sky use it as a showcase channel with selected content and live events to try and tempt people into signing up for the sports package

Think you need to understand the purpose of Pick. It is a token channel by Sky so that they can have the bandwidth on the freeview platform to promote their paid for service and also when they are forced in to putting something on free-to-view they have availability to do it.

Sky Sports Mix is part of the basic Sky subscription not a free-to-view channel. They put it on entertainment section so that people with a basic sub would see it as invariably they don't go down to the 400 channels for Sports. It means they can also promote their sports channels on it and more people will see.

Not meaning to be pedantic but that's exactly what I said. No that HAS Sky has to pay for it. I never said it was free to air.

That still doesn't explain why with a decent signal that the picture on this channel is shit does it ?
It comes down the TV aerial the same way the other 80+ channels do if I'm not mistaken.

It does because they are supplying at a lower bit rate, ie cheaper

My dad is trying to get mix on virgin media but it's saying it's not part of his package. Anyone having a similar problem or got a way round it?
