Depends what FIFA do with the Russian clubs. I believe if they get suspended for next season too, then the players contracts are effectively void & they can go where they want. Their contracts are currently suspended until 30th June, so I’d imagine there’ll be a decision fairly soon.

You’re joking right? He was horrifically bad on the ball, there’s a good reason he was subbed off at half time. He was hopeless at progressing the ball against a very basic Cardiff team.

But he doesn't give you the outlet from defence that basham does. Central if Egan goes yes no problem with that. I don't get where the talk of Egan leaving has come from because this season he's been very suspectable for me especially the ball over the top looks so indecisive. That's my opinion each to there own

A. Play our style and get used to it
B. Be judged on that.

You can say all the "yeah but he trains every day so should be used to it." its like Penalties, no matter how much you practise them you will NEVER recreate the genuine like for like that you get in a proper competitive match.

Absolutely, don't disagree with anything you've said. Bash has been integral over the last 5 seasons and that post wasn't a pop at him whatsoever. I don't think he's been anywhere near as good as the levels he's set previously - he too is looking a bit suspect with balls played down the side of him. He could've probably done better with at least two of Forest's goals over the two legs and sadly at some point we need to look at succession planning for when injuries do eventually catch up with him.

Bashams got at least one more solid season in him but wouldn't disagree he didn't cover himself in glory defensively against Forest. If and when he needs replacing it won't be with Uremovic. He looks a solid, rough and ready defender but looks weak in possession. He's been available throughout the run in but not selected in the starting 11. Why? Possibly because the management team rate Egan, Robinson and Basham ahead of him.

Saying he’s a better ‘footballer’ suggests you were talking about his ability on the ball. He’s a better head-it and kick-it defender.

I’d probably take him on a free as a squad player if the option was there. I’m not convinced he’s good enough to start for a team looking to get promoted though.

Or possibly, the manager wanted players who would still be here next season if we were promoted or not? MGW not in lncluded in that for obvious reasons.

Basham has earned his two year contract because that is how long it will take to find, train and adapt the guy who succeeds him.

I’m presuming that we’ll not be able to now and again same with Davies he’ll go back to Liverpool but the light at the end of the tunnel for me is that Jack Robinson has got better and better imo he played a captains role against Forest in the 2nd leg.

Been watching him since he first played in Croatia U-21s.

As for Uremovic, He's not convinced me yet. People raved about him because he showed passion in a gave but he dallied on the ball and was caught flat footed and out of position a few times. Having said that, it does take time to acclimatised to the pace of this league and he's hardly played. I think he'd be better in Egan's role but I'd prefer someone taller as the stopper. Like Brighton used to do. As for Bash, we'd need someone who is good enough to play that role as there was a noticeable slowing this season and also downturn on consistency. I don't think we can expect him, with the injuries he picks up and age, to play a full season every game.

Yep, I’d agree with this, if he stays then he has to be no1 with bash backup

haven't rated uremovic that much either. Hes totally different to bash as well who has far more footballing ability. He’s been alright defensively but very basic on the ball. Wouldnt have him in the starting 11. Squad player for me.

I think he looked wasteful on the ball to be honest. It was only a few games, so I don’t think we should put any weight on our views, especially when comparing to those who’ve been here 10 years.

I’d be gutted if Basham left.

You do know that the Number one requirement by Blades fans is 'Passion'
Football ability is unfortunately a bit further down on their requirements.

I love the man with all my heart and I'm so glad we've kept him on but personally I feel Bash has been getting more and more defensively suspect since West Brom in Feb.

Got exposed a couple of times in that game which I only noticed because it's so rare.

I'm still very much a Bash fan and always will be, but he is starting to show signs of the inevitable decline

Bash has always been suspect at the back it’s his ability to get forward that we need or we’ll end up playing the ball across the back 5 and wait for a striker to make a run in short playing a long ball which usually ends up with the opposition! perhaps a sweeper or a midfield player in a holding role could suit? Saying that they’re an expensive commodity if you want a decent one.

Basham looks finished to me. I’d definitely sign Uremovic but it wouldn’t be as a replacement for Bash. Think he could play RCB and it would give Bogle a lot more freedom to get forward.
