Woody an TC should be in their as favourites and not just best.

Matthews well past it so I'd slip MacPhail in there.

Loved McCall and the Chief too.

Monty too, more to piss off the forum tikka takka police.

McCall would definitely be in the squad. But I already had Fleck so I can't have two Rangers fans in my team :)

this team took us to 6th in div 1 1974, only 1point short of europe and 4 points short on league champions-always close to my heart this side

nostalgic table, off course a year on we hit the black hole.
imagine the excitement at the time with so many clubs involved in the race, sadly these days will never return

Basing mine pretty much on the memories. Borbokis wasn’t exactly the best right back in terms of defending but getting forward and his free kicks/goals stand out.

Kelly
Borbokis, Morgan, Jagielka, Harley
Ndlovu, Brown, McCall, Whitehouse
F’jortoft, Peschisolido

Holdsworth could have been in there for his goal against Coventry, Tonge in 02/03 was class as well.

Such a tough one...

Traditional 4-4-2
1 Kelly
2 Pembo
3 Nilsen
4 Fleck
5 Morgs
6 McGrath
7 Bradders
8 Brown
9 Ched
10 Sharp
11 Whitehouse

I'm clearly not one for a lot of pace.

22 Carlisle United 42 12 5 25 43 59 0.729 29

ARSENAL TOTTENHAM IN BOTTOM 7 AND CHELSEA RELEGATED only won 9
what chance of that now

Kelly

Geary Morgan Murphy W.Quinn

Brown Coutts Sabella Whitehouse

Deane Edwards

Des Thompson, Heaton, Barlow, Montgomery, that bloke who did the unseen work...

You get my drift?

Oh, and Guthrie and Rush up front,

Oh, and Faulkner

Nearly forgot that twat Thompson...

The Lion of Hillsborough.

That is always the first thought that comes in to Brownies mind when I hear the name D'jaffo.

Brownies memory bank also inform Brownie that the aforementioned Lion, was a big, slow, cumbersome and immobile forward who would also pop up with a scruffy goal here and there, and would very rarely leave the pitch having not given it his all.

Brownie can also recall a rumpus at a game versus Wolves where he the Lion threatened to thump a Wolves player,

I'll have to have a good think but my initial thought is of a central defence of Joe Shaw and Morgs. No one would get passed.

Hodgkinson Badger J Shaw Morgs Magic Hat Woody TC Hockey Reece Dearden Deane

He was subbed and famously marched on the pitch in his suit and best loafers at the end of the game and scared the living daylights out of the Wolves player.

Man Utd not even in the division..
football is cyclic.. in 30 years time Wolverhampton Wanderers will be dominating football and Man Utd will be living on past memories again

So difficult. Some positions a lot more straightforward than others:-

Budgie or Kelly
Borbokis
Quinn
Kenworthy or McCall
MacPhail, Morgan or Maguire
Jagielkaor Jones
Morris or Woodward
Kamara or Brown
Deane or Edwards
Sabella or Hatton
Whitehouse or Bryson
