With the 26 man England squad announced and as 26 correlates with letters in the alphabet I started to think of my "favourite" A-Z blades players. Whilst down the pub I should add.

X and Z omitted of course, but here's mine.

Favourite for me means players I've seen in my lifetime (at the Lane or on TV). N was hard obviously but I've seen Ndlovu play at the Lane so he got the nod above Ndiaye, albeit a tough call.

Agana, Brown, Coutts,
Deane, Edwards, Fleck,
Gannon, Hodges, Ifill,
Jagielka, Kelly (A), Littlejohn,
Mcgoldrick, Ndlovu, O'Connell,
Peschisolido, Quinn (S)
Reece, Sharp, Tonge
Unsworth, Veart, Whitehouse
X - no answer required
Yeates - HARD!!
Z - no answer required

Can’t disagree with much of that.

Possibly Beagrie instead of Brown.

Brown was great but loved watching Beagrie

Age matters in this list. Also does favourite mean best player? Brown was a far better player than Bob Booker. Booker would make my list. Glenn Cockerell might beat Coutts for me but I saw Currie and Woodward, so no contest with due respect for Whitehouse. Also tight between McGoldrick and Colin Morris for favourite players.

That's what I didn't get.
