As many of you know I have recently done my scouting badges along with my UEFA A license to boot

The first of my summer transfer suggestions would be Ethan Ampadu

I personally thought he was one of our better players when we went down and he has excelled for wales and this year done well @ Monza according to scouting reports I’ve had back taking them to 9th in Serie A and been a standout player for the Italians

He also looks a monster for wales when I have watched the sheep lovers play and can play Centre back of Defensive Mid

I’ve spoke to my contacts and he would be interested and has a year left at chelsea would be a good signing for us IMO

Sign him Bettis you snake
Could you please upload a photo of your badges and license? Some on here think you may be making it all up :)

As i have said beforer Derf i dont need to validate my football knowledge to anyone , especially not tp people on the internet who say nasty things about me

I have them dont you worry

A player getting relegated doesn’t have a correlation between there ability 🤷‍♂️

We would struggle to find a better CB than him at that age IMO who we could realistically sign for a fee we could afford

You can come back to me in 5 years when he is one of the best CB’s in Europe
Jesus Christ, the thought of 5 more years of you in my life

Just ignore the fact he has two own goals and the one goal he didn't score today his defending was so so so schoolboy. Running after a lost ball like a 5 year old leaving space for them to score when he wasn't able to reach it

My problem with him isn't that he got relegated with us, it's more that he was consistently the worst player on the park while doing so.

He wasnt you must have watched a different season or player

I thought he was one of our better centre backs , much better than Egan IMO

No chance of signing Doig with Verona staying up I guess.

The Lad’s class 😬

Doesn’t mean much though does it. If he’d gone to Serie B and won promotion would that make him a better or worse player? A relegation is not a reflection of the individual (in most cases) - if anything I feel bad for the lad, must’ve been a pretty miserable and stressful 3 years.

However, he did offer very little during his time here and he hasn’t done much since then to make me think he’s kicked on in a major way (granted I don’t watch Italian football but he’s not been gaining plaudits in the media/supporter world).

Still - time on his side and hugely experienced for his age. Maybe the right team, right league, right manager he could still be a real gem?

Out of the game by 32 is my guess

Nah - you are correct. I’ve not seen much of him other than when he was here to judge. I saw some flashes of talent but zero tactical nouse or understanding of the game to suggest he’s going to make it.

That seems to be a gulf between the expectations and his reputation and what he’s actually delivered on the pitch. Might be harsh but Seems to have been living off a couple of games in league 2 at 17.

For his own sake he needs to chose his next loan carefully - go to a side that’s challenging for promotion or something as the last few years must have been miserable for him.

What choices does he have other than shit teams in the higher divisions or nothing teams in the lower orders.
He's shown by now that he's simply not a player that can make a difference.
( delete the Coaching Badge from Certificate Wizard Fallowfield!)

He's too weak to be the centre half he'd like to be. He's also not good enough in aerial challenges either.

Unless he gets better in this regard he'll often be the one player centre forwards target to get the better of.

His reading of the game is not currently good enough at the moment to cover for his lack of physical dominance either.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you're a troll now, either that or just a complete and utter plank.

1st goal - absolute donkey slams the ball into his own net, sunday league stuff.

His goal - two skanky deflections.

Veronas 2nd goal - JESUS CHRIST he is absolutely all over the place.

3rd goal - not as horrific as the 2nd but he's just not a very good defender is he.

Awful player

Crap just like our second season in the PL. No memories please.

We'd built a fantastic team on a solid defensive unit. Never scored that many goals even in the 9th placed season, but we were probably the 4th of 5th best defensive team in the country.

Then we have THAT in our defence/midfield, is it any shock that everything absolutely fell apart.

Im convinced he's a defensive connor sammon, he'll just gradually fall downwards and sometimes laterally his entire career, stealing a damn good living the whole time. He's lucky he's falling from the 'heights' of having chelsea on his cv.

Awful player

Exactly this - plus he is prone to avoiding/neshing tackles (see Palace v Utd as case in point).

Not a centre half, simple as that.

He could however be a decent defensive midfielder in the right system.

He’s still just a kid, and despite that has a lot of experience of different managers, styles of play and tactics. Not forgetting experience in another country.

Do I think he will make it at Chelsea? No.
But he really needs to go somewhere that’s ambitious in the championship and build some momentum. A club and manager that is happy to work with raw talent and develop them patiently, with no pressure or expectations to be a world beater every week.
Couple of clubs for that for me…Ipswich, Sunderland, Coventry, Blackburn for example.
And not a loan either….a permanent move. Give him a bit more focus and a sense of belonging.
