Article in the Star saying the club are being inundated with counterfeit copies of the shirts and are going to clamp down on it.

They could start on this forum by identifying the kid who proudly told us all he'd lent someone his original Blades shirt whilst on holiday, for an hour, so they could copy it?

That "bright spark" has cost the club thousands, if not millions, in lost revenue. I do hope he won't mind when the club cancel his season ticket and give him a lifetime ban?

Lending a Turkish or Chinese bloke a shirt for 1 hour isn't going to cost the club millions, when gary from Heeley goes to marmaris and picks one up for 100 lira. If anyone wanted to copy one, you could just use the pictures they have on the website?

Or if they were due to make £millions from it, I'm sure they could afford the initial £50 outlay....

Be very wary if you buy snide shirts, I wouldn't put my young son in one. They don't carry the safety certificates that adidas ones do, anywhere near a naked flame (no he doesn't smoke!) and they go up in moments, not worth the risk. They can even put numbers on in the shop as the heat from the press melts the material.

Saw someone in one last week, they look cheap and they are more orange than red.

£55 for a t-shirt is nothing really if you're against paying that as well as helping out your club something is wrong.
it's not a charity though it's a business, and when you look to the lower half of PL teams, our shirt appears expensive at £55#

edit: I stand corrected... £55 is the cheapest adidas PL kit price... probably the price Adidas charge tbh

Don't think it will have cost the club a much as people think, I know a few that bought those Chinese ones, that are too embarrassed to wear them because of the colour discrepancy, and have bought the official one also.

Give us a decent priced shirt at 40 quid, stripes front and back, and not too big a sponsor, and you might find your profits increasing.

Just produce a shirt that fits the mould. It's not fucking hard.

Continue to abuse supporters with shit designs and overpriced material, and you'll sell less.

Sit next to someone wearing fake polyester Stone Island in one of those shirts and there’d be sparks flying everywhere.

Why would you buy a snide shirt ? Anyone who wants to copy one can buy one from the club so it's a bit silly to blame fans lending them to counterfeiters. They are cheap for a reason the colours aren't quite right , the sizes are smaller, and yes they could melt onto you if you go near a heat source, they are shite.
Why do people buy snide shirts ? because the Adidas ones are over priced they were over priced last season and I done see why being a Premier League team makes them £10 more this season. Stop ripping the fans off and they don't buy snide shirts it is that simple.

Its like the fuss over fake watches. As if anyone buying a fake Rolex for £50 is costing the company ten grand because they didn't buy a real one. People buy fakes for a laugh, it doesn't cost anyone anything.

These days, fake watches are often pretty good watches in their own right, even if they aren't what they claim to be I have a "breitling" which is very close in weight / appearance to its kosher relative. I know it isnt one because a) i paid £30 for it and b) its immediately obvious when you take the back off.

As for our shirts. I have a kosher one from the club shop, imho the material is of poor quality. After about 3 washes at 30 deg you can already see a few pulls.

I bought one for £14 including delivery from DH Gate and it's spot on. I've held it next to a mate's £55 original and the only visible difference is the USG logo on the arm is slightly smaller. Everything else, colour, material, badge, cut, seams etc is bang on the same. It probably is the same. Bob on really for a saving of forty notes... 😍

The Crab Industries prototype was a lacking a bit quality wise. I shouldn't have trusted Vern with the permanent marker.....

Think this is the best point of the argument.

If you're charging £55 for a shirt. Make it out of quality materials and don't make it in a sweat-shop: more people will buy it.

The ones to go for are the fakes with automatic movements. I've had a fake Rolex for over 20 yrs now and it's still going strong, never had the back off and is accurate to about 5 minutes a month. I'm pretty certain I'm not depriving some orphans in Switzerland out of their daily crusts.

Bang on. I have no problem.paying for something if I know I'm getting quality. I'm not digging at us in particular because I have long thought football shirts in general are poor value

Some of our fans make me wonder.....

Our season tickets are amongst the cheapest in the PL.

Our shirts are amongst the cheapest in the PL.

Still moaning.

It's times like this when I thank god that I'm not from Yorkshire.

Don't get me started on fake watches and fake designer clothes, if you can't afford them then don't try and pretend you can.

Definitely this. You can get some really.mooky quartz movements. Quite often the automatics are direct copies of the originals. The originals are stripped down and copied, but obviously with cheaper materials.

I've got a 70s retro shirt with a no. 10 on the back (real one of course), had it donkeys years. haven't bought another since. I wear it less and less now to preserve it. (Plus my gut doesn't fit into it quite as easily these days). When the club make a shirt to better that one I'll buy it.

I've got a selection of watches, some real , some fake, some pricey, some not so. Its a hobby of mine. I buy them because I want to. As I said early most people buy them for a laugh. Chill mate, nobody's going to die.
