Just wondered, How do they actually enforce this? Do they have a list of all those banned for life? Has anyone here received a ban but carried on attending? Surely in a few months it will all be forgotten and he will go again

I believe for away international matches you have to surrender your passport a day or before the game, to prove you aren't leaving the country. I've heard in the past for club games you had to check in to a police station, either just before or during the game to prove you're not attending. Not sure if this is still the case.

I really doubt that. And I'll tell you why...because the type of folk who do this kind of thing are just plain thick and they won't take notice of this case and think..."oh, I'd better not do that then", because they aren't capable of computing such a thought.

I don't know what possesses any human being to wish such bad things on another - it's degrading. But there seems to be degrees of it amongst many football fans. How many of you on here have been brainwashed into thinking that Wednesday fans are some kind of sub-human scum and will be chanting things like "Die piggy Die" when we play them?

It's easy to forget decent human values when you get caught up in a cult. And if you're not the sharpest knife in the box to begin with then these things are always likely to happen.

Actually "Die Piggy Die" is exclusively a Wendy chant, which isn't very classy considering that two people to date have been murdered by Wednesday supporting subhuman scum.

There were a couple of girls reminiscent of Tracey and Sandra from Viz who started singing at at the Sty a few years ago when a Pig was injured on the pitch. They soon got the message.

While I do not condone what the fan said, I think a life ban is a bit excessive. The club should be commended for taking action but I think a six month or season ban would have sufficed to get the message to him.

I doubt our Billy and his wife would think so.

they've made an example and fair enough. i think a life ban is harsh - but, act a public wanker online and run the risk. I wonder if they'll continue with such a harsh stance and whether grey areas may appear in future.

Rubbish! I've heard Blades fans chanting the same. It doesn't matter who started it, there are some levels you just don't stoop to. Wishing death on your opponents is one of them. If you seriously believe that's ok then you need to recognise you've got caught up in the cult and it's not good. You've lost a piece of humanity if you subscribe to that and you are becoming feral in nature.

Many families, many friends, are a mix of Owls and Blades. Would you wish that on them?

I find the arrogance of many Wednesday fans just plain laughable. It's a trait that they seem to have and have had all the time I've been watching Sheffield football. But I don't think they are sub human scum and wish death upon them. Life's more important than that.
