Failure to control our players

Yes we have a problem, I totally accept sticking up for your mates and all but I can't stand it, against Coventry WE had the free kick = leave it alone, against wrexham, they score a goal, we have the kick off and it makes no difference if they run with the ball to the centre spot the game can't start again until we kick off = Leave it.
Portsmouth, the ref blew for full time, is the ref going to reconsider, no so, = leave it
Watford, hamer does professional foul, we get back into position and we defend in numbers, job done = leave it
It pisses me off that we carry it on, we get bookings, suspensions and fines and we get absolutely no benefit whatsoever

cant see points getting docked for on field shenanigans, if so wednesday would have been sent to the northern conference for the assault on the ref by di canio

we did control anel , surely coventry needed fining for awful acting by Shirley Bassette

The irony is the club is charged with failing to control the players, when in fact it all stems from the fact that the referee failed to control the players.
Had he done his job it wouldn’t have happened.
Maybe he should pay the fine.
I’d love to like this a thousand times. The twats, sorry, the refs are never made to explain themselves, they get away with all sorts.

I make that four charges over 19 games this season. That's quite impressive. I don't think (it's hard to find any evidence either way) that the punishment can extend to points deductions but we must be testing the patience of the FA.

Wrexham (H): they score a consolation goal in the 93rd minute. Peck gets to the ball in the back of the net first, Wrexham players come steaming in to get it. Melée ensues. £8,500 fine.

Watford (H): Jebbison tangles with Souttar just after Hamer takes out one of their players to stop a counter. Players from both sides pile in. £17,000 fine.

Portsmouth (A): Seriki is taken out bursting through but the referee blows for full time before we can take the kick. Souza, in particular, is incensed. Portsmouth's keeper gets involved unnecessarily. Both teams pile in. £40,000 fine.

Coventry (A): Ahmedhozic reacts to some classic shithousery from Norman Bassatte and is sent off just before half time. Melée ensues in the tunnel, presumably centred around Bassatte. Sanction to be determined but it might well be £100k.

Do we have a problem? Or are we just unfortunate? It's good that the players stick up for each other but maybe we need a few calmer heads at times. The Wrexham incident was sparked by their players piling in unnecessarily but the Watford incident was probably caused by our players. Pompey was down to the incompetence of the referee; Coventry was our players reacting to Bassatte
Can anyone confirm whether a points deduction is possible ?

I know it's a counsel of perfection but when it's obvious the players are incensed , the manager & coaches should get on the pitch + get them together , allow the Coventry players to get down the tunnel + guide our lot in afterwards.
It was bound to kick off in the tunnel if you let them mix.

Just been having a search online. As far as I have read, points deductions are for financial irregularites.
The only thing I have seen is that the FA bought in a points deduction system for tier 3 level and below in the 23/24 season, i.e grass roots fooball, mens, womens and kids for violent misconduct on and off the pitch.

Oh rule 19B Any club that allows pigeons to enter the field of play or shit on an opposing players head shall automatically be deducted 12 points.

If there's one thing that gets the Bramall Lane crowd going and usuallly then transmits to the pitch, its some handbags/pushing and shoving. Many a game has been turned in our favour on it.

I also think because we've got the likes of Souttar, Moore and Souza we are the bigger boys in many of these situations so look like the ones causing trouble, even if (in most cases) we're just defending one another

Meanwhile the winking Coventry cheat is free to go on his way with no sanction. Even some on this thread suggesting he should be a role model for how to play against us.
Not everything about the modern game is rubbish, but there are very large parts that are.

I disagree that this is a symptom of modern football. Winding people up and targeting the opposition's most volatile player was WAY more prevalent back in the 1970s and 1980s.

Take passion out of the game, along with tackling , common sense and entertainment. Heading will be next. I would like 5 minutes in the FA head office.
..you will be lucky to find anyone to hear you !!

The FA can do one. Grabbing someone around the back of the neck and pushing their head into the ground is the same as grabbing someone at the front of the neck and they both should have gone.

The fact that the Gollum physiqued jizzmop threw himself to the ground should not make a difference.

The ref has some accountability in not controlling the game.

How far can we push this before it gets a little more serious for us?
We must be by far-and-away the most ill-disciplined club in the EFL?

Must say though, the fines seem a little trigger-happy. There wasn't much in it at Swansea?
Seems a bit silly to be fining sides every time there's a push & a shove...

It’s nonsense really. Players are expected not to react when an opposition player is ridiculously late into a challenge?

And I don’t get why we have been fined multiple times and more than the side we’re playing despite our players being the victims sometimes.

It seems over the top punishments for a bit of hand bags

Does it now seem Keith knownowt hacket is running the fa deciplinery panel 🤣 or is just a football site contributor

Think we rank 4th for discipline

Seems to me other teams should be fined for: "Failure to defend your teammates when they're elbowed (Anel) or kneecaped (Brewster)."

For me it was the referee that failed to control the situation, the tackle was over the top and clearly a red card, the first thing the referee does is charges into the "melee" and gets involved trying to separate players, if anything he was causing more aggro than the players were. Then he issues the red card whilst in the middle of it all like it was a big rush. First thing he should have done was blown his whistle, and kept on the outside, tooting away like a steam train, players would have walked away if he verbally said he is gone. For some reason the red card is the first indication to the players, that is the referee's intention rather than talking first. The cards are there for people not in the vicinity i.e. fans, managers and other players so they are aware of what is going on however on that one you give the whistle a few blast and start talking. Plus there was nothing in it other than a couple of pushes and 2 of them were started by the referee barging in.

Seriously, that was nothing. A few players gathering around after the foul on Brewster.

Honestly you would think so. I'd say the Coventry away incident was the only one worthy of the FA panel. The rest of the incidents were handbags and kerfuffles which like I said already were instigated by the opposition. Neither ourselves or Swansea should be punished for the other night. Their lad got his red card and that should be the end of it.

Also, what punishment is ever put on the refs when they clearly fail to keep control of a match?
