Stan The Man heading a last minute winner to beat Lincoln City in a cup replay. We didn't have much success in the cup in the early 80s but that was a great moment.

Don't remember the year (mid 70s). As a young lad my very first away match on the supporters with my dad and uncle, versus Leicester. We got hammered 3-0, But my lasting memory was of TC smashing a free kick against one of the glass fronted boxes behind the goal, because someone was giving him less than complementary hand gestures.

remember it well keith edwards debut as sub chris garland hattrick, stood on there kop rassed off with city supporting mates

The Villa park trip the other year. The game that set us on the way to Wembley. I've never gone more mental for a goal than when Flynny smashed in our 2nd. The away end was fucking bedlam for 2 minutes.

norwich away absolutely crammed in the corner, great performance
boston united, bumped into a few london blades on the train,
watford away replay with stan scoring
arsenal away with last min pen from taylor
arsenal at old trafford with seaman save, aguebly the best save ive seen

Loved going to West Ham for a night match when I was 16 even though we did lose 4-0. Also the 5th round tie at Norwich in 1989 was amazing even though we lost 3-2.
1989!. Hadn't realised the Norwich FA cup match was that long ago.Memorable game.My dog died the day before and I cried all the way there :(...In fact it would have been his birthday on Tuesday...Happy 308th birthday Ricky :)....UTB

We were abysmal in my first years watching Utd, we never seemed to get past the third round. Loved my first real cup run when we frightened Norwich to death at their place as a third division side.
If I remember rightly they put a million pound bid in for Deane and Agana on the back of that.....?

Nahhh !!!!!
They'd have been sold if that was true and we'd have stayed in the lower leagues for the past 25 years

Home match against Burscough 1979? won 3-0 i think...only 8 or 9 thought it was fantastic.

So many, but for some reason that away tie in the First Round at Colchester three years ago remains one of my fondest memories; it must have been the absolute despair of seeing Porter miss that open goal at 2-2 only for him then to step up and stroke home the winning penalty minutes later.

Miller's last gasp winner at Fulham brings a tear to the eye as does Flynny's thunderbolt at Villa Park. Deano's hat-trick at Burnley, those two Quarter Final Replay penalty shoot-outs in 1993 and 1998. The sheer pride I felt at the end of the Hull City semi in 2014 and the Arsenal semi in 2003.

6th round, 1961, beat Newcastle away 3-1. Played reserve left-back Cliff Mason on the right-wing, and we were 3 up in 20 minutes (Russell hat-trick). Crowd of 54,000, including 18,000 Blades in all parts of the ground (no segregation then), all singing Ilkla' Moor. Journey back on the train, a football special with only Blades fans on. I don't recall a day out at football as good as that.

One that sticks out is from the 02-03 season, the 4-3 vs Ipswich in the 4th round.
Absolutely mad game. Goals from Michael Brown on his 26th birthday, Jags and Brown again (spectacular volley, similar to the one vs pigs)
In 2nd half Ipswich brought on the two Darrens - Bent and Ambrose, and after our third there were 3 goals in 5 minutes for Ipswich, inc a penalty, and unbelievably they were level.
Thankfully Peschi scored in the last minute to send us through..

My best FA Cup memory has to be the Coventry QF replay in 98
Holdworths last minute equaliser, pitch invasion after winning on pens, Alan Kelly saving a hat trick of penalties on St Patricks day. I was pretty young at the time but still have fantastic memories of that day!

I had a scrapbook when I was younger and I remember when we beat Man Utd 2-1 when Hodges scored and I got my dad to buy about 20 papers after to put in my scrapbook. I've no idea where the book is now but would love to dig it out in my mum's house cos there were loads of great memories in there

Also remember losing 2-1 to QPR when Warnock put Haidong on and basically went for the lose

My mate broke his arm in the Coventry game. When Holdsworth equalised he somehow got it stuck behind a seat and we all jumped on him. He was screaming but we were just hugging him thinking he was just celebrating the goal

QPR away just after new year in 2015 was a laugh. I'd been in London for a week, on a debauched binge with my pals. I was going home that day. Full away end, smashed 'em 3 nowt. I was sat right on the front row of the top tier, fantastic view, really close to the action. It was a bright, crisp day. Perfect weather.

There was this chunky ginger lad next to me who gave me a sweaty hug every time we scored. Gleeful atmosphere from start to finish. Tony Currie had an on-pitch interview at half time, as he'd played extensively for both clubs. We applauded him off the pitch. Rio Ferdinand was playing in the QPR back 4, we absolutely rinsed him all game, kind of ironically because he didn't put a foot wrong all game.

There was a hispanic bloke in the QPR crowd with a big sombrero, he was singing QPR songs all game directly at us. When they were 2-0 down he was still miming to us that they'd win 3-2. By the end we were singing "EZA BLADE AN EZA BLADE" to him. The rest of the home crowd were utterly miserable. Don't blame 'em! Imagine being a QPR fan.

The old scrapbooks Roy. I remember doing two scrapbooks 1968/69 and 1969/70 seasons. These were two seasons in the old Division 2 and both ended with us rather disappointingly not getting promoted.

Now being a superstitious person with all things Blades I thought I wouldn't do a scrapbook for the 1970/71 season as I was jinxing the team. Crazy I know but as we all now know it worked.

Unfortunately I have no record (apart from memory) of that great season and just fueled my superstitious beliefs that still continue today.

The best and worse memory comes from the same match, and I'm astounded that it has not been mentioned on here, although it is probably understandable because we it hasn't been forgotten by one side of the city, and it was a game that was a once in a lifetime experience, and a game not many people under the age of 30 will remember and that was the Wembley Semi in 1993.

The build up was phenomenal, the city was buzzing with excitement and anticipation, it was the subject that was on everyones lips in Sheffield. There was loads of subplots and intrigue. The lengthy and sustained campaign to have the fixture moved from Elland Road to Wembley because Spurs v Arsenal had been shifted there as it was the only ground deemed big enough to hold the fixture, and ours at the time was every bit as big, but a lot more understated by the media.

It was a real game that we genuinely couldn't afford to lose, because of the magnitude of what was at stake, the fear of losing struck fear in to fans on both sides of the city. I was only 15, and in Year 10 at Ecclesfield School, so in that environment the Blades were pretty much outnumbered, but just as loud. The herd followed Wednesday, whilst the lads and lasses who stuck to their guns were all Blades and gave as good as they got.

The morning of the game i was up at 5 to go and do my paper round, and spent half an hour in the paper shop waiting for the delivery and the bloke who ran the paper shops got me on my way as soon as he could so i could be back at home ready to get the minibus at half 6. There was about 15 of us on the minibus, my Wednesdayites mates Dad had sorted it for him and his mates and there was about 10 Owls and 5 of us Blades, of which me and my mate was the youngest. As a naive 15 year old, I took a packet of wine gums and a 39p 2litre bottle of Rola Cola down with for my refreshments, the minibus had not even got to the bottom of Burncross Road before i have the Rola Cola taken from my possession to be replaced by a can of Stones. The banter was unbelievable, stick went backwards and forwards, not malicious, just friendly stick between a group of friends.

We rocked up at Wembley, walked down Wembley Way which was an amazing experience as it was a sea of Red, White and Blue. I saw loads of people i knew walking down Wembley Way. People from school, people from matches, a couple of teachers from school, people who i delivered papers to, the lot. Just 90,000 football mad people from the Steel City. I was totally overwhelmed as there didn't seem to that much edge to things, just everyone doing us proud, and when we was in the ground the lap of the pitch that Mel Rees did whilst dying of cancer was a brilliant tribute from both sides of the city. I was in tears watching it.

The sad postscript is that the journey home was wank for me. I sat most of the way with sore red eyes from the tears at full time, trying to ignore the gloating pig, and nursing a can of warms Stones and just wanting to get home, although the day hadn't been all bad, as they held a Grand National Sweepstake on the way down, and as it had been abandoned that day due a false start, they had decided to award the winnings to the horse that had unoffically been first past the post. Esha Ness, £40 was a lot of money to a 15 year old, so the day had been slightly improved.

It really could have been the best day ever, but sadly following United it never ends up like that, but with the exception of the result, it was a once in a lifetime experience that should really never be forgotten.

Did you collect 'View from opposition fans in their local papers' in those days :)

Good stuff as ever, Brownie. To be fair, we should have been stuffed about 5-1. The build up on national radio was phenominal. Somebody coughed up to buy 100,000 red and white balloons so the pigs copied us, as usual. We increased it to 250,000 so the pigs copied us again. Imagine that! As the teams came out. Half a million balloons were released! Possibly the most impressive entrance Wembley has ever seen!

My dad went to that semi, and I wanted to go but my mum said I was too young (6 at the time) and forbade my dad to take me! Just as well in the end, eh.

I work with a Villa season ticket holder who has been going thirty odd years.

He said our support that day was the loudest away following he has ever heard at Villa Park( alongside Man Utd who had about 15,000 all over the ground for an FA Cup match.)

I related this to one of my Wendy supporting mates who didn't believe me so obviously it can't be true.
