I didn't really care for them, until I saw them at Glasto 2007. They were on before Arctic Monkeys so I thought I might as well have a look. Hooked since then. That day was great, the last 3 acts on the Pyramid Stage were Bloc Party, Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys. Peak Indie or what!
If you get chance catch them in a small intimate venue. Mosh pits are mental.
Most recent one for me was Halifax Victoria Theatre. Imagine Sheffield City Hall but half the size.
Newport Leisure Centre was bizarre beyond belief :D

I miss the training montage theme from Rocky that they used to play when players came out (I think it's called something like Going The Distance?).

People tend to be a lot more approving of all the kidney punching I do to children in wheelchairs when that music is playing.

Peak indie you fuckwit.
Ian brown is a god. Your music knowledge is akin to your football knowledge, i.e. you know fuck all.

I saw them at the Leadmill years ago, they were brilliant. It was a shame when the band booking team from the Leadmill took a pay rise and moved elsewhere (one to the o2 in Sheffield and one to London), they used to book some good bands.

When did that happen , roughly? I wondered why it was nowhere near as good any more.

I'd say about 8/9 years ago, the bookings girl was a mate of mine at the time and she had a great method of attracting the best bands and she was quite blase about it ;), she now works as a producer on radio at the BBC. The bloke was Rupert (he wasn't a bear though) and he moved to o2 academy but I don't know if he's still around Sheffield.
