"2nd half"

I thought the first half we were comfortable. Had Campbell squared it to Bamford, instead of inexcusably taking it onto his weaker foot to shoot, we'd have gone in 1-0 up and probably don't lose
Keep Campbell on his right foot and he’s almost certain not to score. Defenders do their homework on their opponents.

Everyone getting a little bit ahead of themselves are brought back to Earth and back to focussing on getting out of trouble, which once you remove the massive outlier vs Stoke, is where we are following the performances as a whole since August.

This is not a good squad.

McCallum was brilliant versus Stoke and other games for that matter,he so much going for him of late.

Burrows who is a nesh git and plays against Norwich /WBA and we look very vunerable again....watch him when he tries to close the oppo down..he does a mini jump turns his back and flicks his right arm up in the air the latter has led to two penaltys in the past.

I find it hard to be too negative about last night . The squad is still being nursed back to strength following alot of games , injury recovery , illness and no doubt fatigue.

We've cobbled together a team for the last couple of games , some of them probably running at 70% readiness .

We played ok 1st half, got caught 2nd half and never really regained a foothold in the game , thats about it.

The week off cant come quick enough .

I know injuries and the ridiculous schedule will have ultimately played their part, but at least we have some clarity on a few points IMHO:-

It’s pretty conclusive that McGuinness is considerably worse than Bindon. Really poor on the deck and in every respect looks the second coming of Neill Collins.

COH is miles ahead of Hamer on the left wing; he’s (Hamer) too much of a luxury player and if we get £10m offered in Jan snap their hands off. Just doesn’t do enough any more for me and the “rely on Hamer creating magic” just means we play worse.

McCallum should start over Burrows, who neshed his 50:50 for the first goal. More athletic, more committed.

We looked leggy, lethargic and the second half miles off it. Plenty of room for improvement again.

I'm old enough to remember when we demolished high-flying Stoke 4-0, with Hamer on the left and O'hare on the bench - our best performance in a long, long, long time
