Maybe you should read the OP again in particular the bits about how much we lost in the six years in League one which roughly works out on average £5m per season compared to a loss of £7,7m last season which is suggesting increasing losses. Also stated in the OP were yearly wage levels of £11m in league one when the average was £4m. Clearly we are talking of the past in an effort to justify a possible low level of investment in the season where in the words of the board at the time that the real significant investment from the Prince would kick in.

See post 113. Your post. Clearly about now. You switch it back to the past that SPOILER ALERT we actually know all about to try to muddy the waters, not withstanding the tactic of pretending people have said something they haven't. The internet version of "so is yours" for adults.

No, what I am saying is a bit of both goes someway to people renewing.

I was confused because up until now you've not agreed with me that on pitch success drives season ticket sales far more than anything else. (In fact I'm not sure you've actually admitted that's the case and still feel your sheep theory is correct) You've just rambled on about McCabe's marketing techniques as if that's why we all flock for ST's.

Did he fool you again or was it promotion that made your mind up?

Obviously on the pitch success helps sells season tickets but also what McCabe says and does plays a part. Not sure I have ever said that on the pitch success doesn't help drive season ticket sales.

I was too brief in my post earlier when I said "it sells seasons tickets". I should have said it helps sell season tickets.

I didn't say you had said it. I said you didn't originally mention it. Honestly, I don't know anyone who has bought a season ticket because of McCabes puffery. I know quite a few who've said "I'm not going whatever that twat says" though.

Obviously, I put them straight, but like you, some don't listen :)

Anyway, Merry Christmas to you and yours Bladesman.

Football is not an investment, it is a gamble, and a big one at that.

look at how many teams there are in this Championship spending huge sums.
(Well huge compared to your average wage or house price, but not huge in terms of PL spending.)

McCabe has had PL football.

Doubt he made a fortune out of it.

TV revenue has increased 10 fold since we were last up there, wages have also of course but still the only realistic chance for owners to make money is the PL unfortunately. Burnley are a good example, yes they yo yo"d for a bit but have never gone mad with their spending, doing enough to stay up and gradually build. They are now bloody loaded as a club.
